What kind of box?

Recommended Posts

Hey, I'm planning on buying a 12'' Fi Q sub, and I was wondering what type of box would be good for me...

I have a polk/momo c500.1. I was planning on getting the dual 1ohm to run 500rms to the sub.

I'm looking for good SQ(obviously why I'm getting the Q) but I want to be able to feel that chit in my back if I want to, lol.

It's going in an older 4DR BMW. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If you need anymore info, I'll answer as best I can.

you wont be able to feel it like i think you want

but it'll hit good...

but if you want SQ....seal it... put it in .8-1.5 cuft

500w is going to be hard get get "feeling" out of. You could seal it for now like sandsnip3r suggested, and then purchase a larger amplifier later on.

What about a SSD in a 2.5ft^3 tuned to 32hz?

In my opinion it would still have the Sq your looking for, while still giving you "the feel" you want.

Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it.

You might be getting the wrong idea of "feel", though, I'm not really looking for something that's going to be heard down the block.

I just want the inside of the car to vibrate a bit, you know?

I might have got the wrong impression, but my friend drives a new Altima and he has a JL W7 12'', I think, might even be 10.

He's running 500w and his hits great, not ridiculous thump but you can definitely feel the music and the mirrors shake a bit.

I'm going to look into that SSD, chad, but I think I might do like the others said and just seal the Q and save up for a 1000wrms amp later on.

But, do you guys think 500w sealed Q will keep me happy for the meantime, based on what I've said so far?
