Suggestions for HU

I was originally thinking of going with the alpine 9886 unit, but are there any other notable HU that stand with this unit.

Ive looked at pioneers, dont really like their single knob and form,

Ive looked at Eclipses, and I dont really like the display,

But I havnt looked at Kenwoods, im sort of thinking they lack in quality but my buddy has a touch screen and loves it, so he recommended get a Kenwood.

Im looking for a single din, roughly $300 which will have ipod control, and nice 4v pres.

I have to agree with you on the Eclipse. I purchased a CD7200MKII and couldnot even see the display. I called Eclipse tech and they said thats the way it is. The tech even told me that he has tried to download a black screen but that did not work. If the background is on on that radio its very difficult to see the written information. However it is by far the best sounding deck I have ever owned.. The other top two were the Alpine cda7878 and the Alpine cda9815.
