Try the Solo X. I don't think you'll enjoy it for daily driving, however I think you'll like how loud it is.

What about some HPO's / Mojo's or something? You've already tried so many things and everything I can suggest seems so similar.

Unless you want a Shiva or something. MTX 8500 or 9500? IDMAX? Something from DD? Diamond TDX? Atomic QT, AP, APX? JBL GTI series?

the shop is now carring lightning audio...i'm trying to talk him into some stryke 12's or 15's...they look kinda kool...LA also as a big 2000wrms amp, our shop's resident world champ says it does everybit of it...

here's the deal....i'm going to be putting a wall in my bro-in-law's firebird...two 15" L7's and two mtx 1501d's....

i already have almost as much power...so i wanna try to be as loud, if not louder...but i don't wanna use squares, unless it's an solox..then i just wanna use one..

yeah, i know..surface area...wall....500 more rms...lol...but i wanna try..

80inch...ur right about onyx i believe....but or that much money..it's hard to pass up...plus with companies like re doing custom recones...lol

kent, you know that you are not gonna be competitive against a wall. even if the wall & side panels are done 1/2 ass, he's still gonna have an advantage.

if you dont care about beating him on the TL, rather to the ear... it'll be tough.

go real big box, lotta port, tune high 30's. mechanical handling will be down but you're going to need to throw some power on it anyhow. keep an eye on the moofer(s).

i did 145.5 without a wall with a pair of 15's and just 1000wrms..no modded electrical..

now..modded electrical....better wire (0 gauge compared to 4 gauge) no other amps...2.5 times the power...maybe get a 50 on the dash legal...

4ft^3 for the solo? with 2500rms? go bigger... much bigger. If you're only going to throw 2.5kw nominal at it, I would move up to the 7-8ft^3 range.

You're gonna lose points downfiring. on the sensor anyhow.

You never did answer, are you actually trying to compete with him (on the TL/mic) or you just wanna sit next to each other and see who's louder?

for mic, downfiring will cost you. at least, it has in my trials and from the competitors that I've talked to. you lose 'spl' in the reflection/cancellation.

if you're gonna go with a solo, the susp is beefy enough that I think 2500rms wont hurt it much (if at all) in 8ft^3.

talk to trp82 (iirc) at TPro... he runs a Solo in a cargo area wall in a blazer. cool guy. mid to high 150's. daily dirver too.
