Hey I'm gonna try and not make this a versus thread. I'm selling my profile cl1200 (shut up) and am looking for an upgrade. It's going to power 2 10" L5's (ported) so I'm basically looking for a solid 800~1kW dclass @ 1 or 4 ohm. My price range is anywhere from 200-300. Right now my current choices are an Autotek SX-900X.

soundstream ega 900d

http://www.cardomain.com/item/SSTEGA900D

those both do 900w rms at 1ohm

or.... an infinity 1210a, 854w (or something) CEA rated at 4ohm...2ohm stable (i think it does 1300 or something). anyhow, they're all relatively the same price. I need some VALID opinions here. people tell me autotek isn't good anymore since maxxsonics owns it...any thoughts? people say the ega series for soundstream isn't good either. aaaand a lotta people hate on infinity cuz it's a mainstream brand but i remember their amps from the 90s were pretty good and this one looks like a good option. OPINIONS PLEASE! other suggestions welcome! i'm not looking at any dei products as their either too expensive or too powerful.

Just get a ninie.1 and set your gains low.

That profile amp isn't so bad of an amp. My friend ran his at .5 ohms bridged and all it did was get a little hot and go into protect after a while. Damn good for the price range.

well--------they are not made anymore----and went for about 369MSRP or something close to that-----I worked at Ampman.com and got it ALOT cheaper.

eehh, droptopz, i'm gonna have to call you out on that .5 ohm. it wont even run well at 2ohm bridged... it's only 4ohm stable

and i really dont want to get the nine.1, why is that like everyone's boner everywhere. YES it's a good amp but geez everyone recommends it for every freakin application. it's just too much power and money

does anyone have any bad or good experiences with thezeb? they informed me that the fuse rating is 40A on the autotek, quite low if you ask me. i'm so tempted i wanna buy it already!

Say whatever you want. That was back when we didn't know what we were doing and he was like, I wonder why my amp overheats after a couple hours of playing time, so we figured out that the amp was running .5 ohms bridged. He bumped it up to 2 ohms bridged after that.

It aws on some dual 2 ohm alpine type r's.

too much power again. i'm really basically looking at the soundstream and autotek...they're both under 250 and do the 900 watts@1ohm that i want

^^ how much for that?

i just talked to sean, a senior product advisor for cardomain, and he says the soundstream i'm interested in (post buyout) is a rubicon internally, anyone attest to that? that'd mean it's a better post-buyout correct (and 50A current draw is nice coming from my 90A profile hog). as for the autotek, i'm still unsure of it. 40A current draw is quite low, owned by maxxsonics (i suppose it doesnt mean it's anything like a brutus internally)...but people still say good things about it. AHH the dilemma.
