how many 8's? you could get a sundown 1500 for less than that @ db-r.com. if you're only running one or two speakers i think either of those amps is going to provide you with a lot of extra power you may not use. perhaps an sax 100.2 would work better for a single or dual speaker setup. tell us what your goals, budget, space and listening preferences are and some of the more knowledgeable members may feel inclined to help ya out.

It'll be 2 D4 8"s. I would like to have the extra power on tap just in case I can talk the wife into more later in the future. I'll have to check the prices at db-r.com. I'm getting this amp used for about $175. That's the only reason I'm considering it. I'm on a budget at this time, and it seemed like a good buy. I just wanted to hear some first hand experience from people who have heard or owned this amp. Thx for the input. I'll go check them out right now. :fing34:

At $175 it does become a mentionable amp. I would expect no more than 1200W@ 1ohm (like the Specs say in the US Amp Forum). I owned a 1600.2 before and I believe it did put out near its rating of 125W@4ohm. i believe others here have used the 4000D, I'm sure they will chip in

Thx for the input. That was my concern as to whether or not it did rated (or close to) power @ 1ohm. I have a budget of $225 shipped to spend on an amp at this time.
