3 BTL 12" Need ideas on inexpensive, but good amps, and also anot

Recommended Posts

So I obviously need to upgrade the electrical wiring and alternator in my 1996 lexus es300, and idk how much that will cost, and i wanted to put 3 BTL 12" in my trunk in a custom ported box, and i needed 3 nice amps to power them, i was thinking CRUNCH 2500 Watt or SPL 3200 watt since they can give out a lot of power for a low price....any other suggestions, and how much will upgrading the ENTIRE electrical units be, Alternator, wiring etc....

3 BTLS---------------------$1100

Pioneer Deck--------------$400

Polk Audio Components--$300

3 Amps---------------------$660 for Crunch $1060 for SPL

------------------TOTAL=$2660 (Does not include labor or the electricals)

what will the final cost be after electricals cuz labor is 270 bucks for this according to my local audio shop

PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

**AND ALSO NOBODY TELL ME SUNDOWN, ITS WAY TO MUCH MONEY, DESPITE HOW fudgeIN SICK THEY ARE

Everyone on here is going to recommend Sundown amps, look into them. As for electrical, you MUST have at least 6 good batteries to support the current, like Powermaster 3100's, and to charge all of them you will need a high output alternator, look into Powermaster, Excessive Amperage, Ohio Generator, Mean Green, and Iraggi for alts. And you will need LOTS of 1/0 gauge. Are you sure your up to the challenge?

you dont need 6 powermaster 3100d's to run 3 bl 12's

or a single saz 3000d

spl is junk and if you go crunch the only decent amp is the gp3000 the smaller amps are just the max power ratings equal crap.

it doesn't matter. it matters on how much power his amps are going to pull. there is no set number of batteries needed, it depends on the battery. i mean he could get one giant RV battery with about 300Ah or something and be okay. however, those batteries are massive and weigh about 150lbs.

It's just my opinion man, you don't need to slaughter it. You can't just make a recommendation instead of belittling someone else?

Why go on a cruise to the Bahamas and eat ramen noodles the whole time?

That just seems to be what you're doing. Buying great subs and a good deck and components and putting junk amps on them. How much do you really want to spend on the amps?

You want 6,000 watts RMS and the charging system to support it for $1,200? HAHA...

why not 1) 18 BTL fully loaded on a saz3000?? I am willing to bet you would have more output then 3 12 BTL's on low (overrated) amps.

and you would have more money to do the rest properly.

Just my opinion ..........good luck

crunch 3000pro x2 =$800ish

300 amp alt = $350ish

2 d3100= $700

plus random stuff.....power cable,fuses,various connectors and endings= $300ish

grand total = $2150...

i cant see it happening for much under that...just save up and do it right the first time.

diablo has it right.

As do the other suggestions of getting only two subs, and maybe BL's at that. How were you going to fit a probably 8 foot enclosure in the trunk of that car anyways? That's about how big it would be for 3 ported 12s.

I agree, balance where the money is going to be spent on the system. Or you will be unhappy or look silly for having 3 massive sub woofers and no quality amplification to push them.

i know the owners of the shop, and they do some SICK ASS designs, and he'll only charge me 100 bucks for a triple 12" ported box. The material of the box is specially made for kicker solo x's 18", and with this box, on a 2500 watt amp, 1 solo x got 156 db wjich was INSANE

Sick box or not if it is too small it will not only sound like crap, but kill your output.

The BTLs are going to want 9 cuft after driver and port displacement. I really don't think the 300es has a big enough trunk for it.

It doesn't matter how well the box is built if it isn't made for the driver its going to sound horrible. So you either need to figure out the specifics of the box and get subs for it or get subs and build the box for them.

I think its time to re-think the system

I know the guys on this forum will rip hard on me for this one but try 3 SSL CR4000.1's they are the best bang for the buck out there if thats what your lookin for. They are not sundown of coarse but they are far from junk. I have used one on a old BTL 15 and did a 145 off only 2300 watts. Only downfall is no subsonic filter and only 4 gauge inputs.
