IMO You should be in the 152-153 range with that setup. I did a 149 flat with 2 18"s and ONE 3000d. I could do a 148 30 second average on music as well. Generally speaking your running additional 3000 watts more then be which in reality should be a 2-3 DB difference.

LOL. Yeah, I have put so much thought into it it's not even funny. With the economy and recent lay off at my work, having a vehicle payment right now might not be so good! In the next couple weeks im taking my truck over to a buddys house to do some welding up there. You wouldn

In this video you can see how close the ports are to the hatch. I think thats what might be giving me the low score. I never did take into consideration the space between the hatch and the box when i built it.

I also thought that port closest to the hatch is the best? I am getting rid of my 18"s. IMO Explorers just dont have the space for 18"s unless its walled off. I had mine in 5.5per each and they wanted much more.

5.5...

Jacob told me the nightshade 18"s like 4-5 cubes max.

He says they like small boxes...

Thats probably what im going to do. My last box was 6" ports so I think I wanna try 4" ports this time... Not 100% sure though.

Hey jacob, when you see this is 8.5 cubes good for 2 18"s? Go bigger/ smaller?

The bigger you go, the bigger peak the box will have and potentialy be louder....

If you go smaller, you'll loose efficiency and need more power to do the same thing...

All Nightshades like smaller boxes than comparable woofers, just how they are :)

Let me talk to my Team guy here in NC with two 18s... he is in a GMC Jimmy and burps 153.4 in a musical box with two 3000s. I think his box is right at 8 cubes.

Okay... talking to someone who knows the box design now. He has 7.8 cubes after sub and port displacement tuned to 45 Hz.

Actually does quite well on music too.

Wow 7.8ft is tiny.

Yes sir - the "monster" sub box was only about 2.5 cubes after port and sub too :)

DAMNNN. I would rather have a sub designed for LESS space anyways because you can do more wit it opposed to a woofer that needs 6-8 cubes *Cough Fi* jk lol

Aw yall talk'in bout little ole me...Seriously Jacob is completely right. The sub's like and excel in a smaller box. I would like to try an even smaller box with what I have now. 4 cubes per sub is right on the money and it will still sound decent. :dj:

Thanks mayne. I like advice from people that "have been there, done that". Any advice on boxes that would be good for the Nightshade?
