I had a tc sounds db-500 12'' and i liked it. the price i got it for was $75 when they did a blowout sale back in february 07. it was under rated imo. if i would of had the money at the time, i would of bought a dozen of em and built a wall

I used to own the OEM-10's and I liked them. I myself was going to get the LMS-15 but, they started the brankrupt thing, So I'm still waiting for them to get out of that one. Overall they are awesome subs, have a lot of technology into them, so you get what you paid for.

They are good drivers, but not worth the money unless you are sponsored and get them for "cheap" like the guy in said video.

Well some people have money... They buy 3k Focal Be, 7k Rainbow Comps, 2k Critical Mass UL sub... so why not a 1k sub with lot's of technology.

That's how I feel even though I will never buy it.

I own a TC 3000 15. I like the sound quality of the sub, it is one of the best sounding subs I have heard. It blends well while listening to music. But at the same time the output is great. I bought mine before the price increase and I feel at that time it was well worth it. Would I buy for the insane price now NO. I was considering Fi, sound splitnter, SSA and a few others and deceided on the TC. I haven't ever had a problem with my TC but I can tell you the customer service and support is not there compared to the others. If I had to do it over again I would more than likely choose one of the others.

Recap

The TC is a great sub, is very well built has very good sound quality and will get very loud.

I have been using TC souns on and off for over 15 years. They make good drivers.

Most people on here don't understand what you are paying for with this type (lms ultra) sub. It uses a very linear motor system with extremely linear cone travel. It is meant more for low distortion at extremely high bottom octave output. You are paying for a proprietary motor and suspention system.

They also can get loud, but if that is your goal, there are much better choices...

If you are looking for simply low distortion at high displacement, there probably aren't many better choices, especially sine the Brahma and Xbl2 XXX aren't made anymore... These also have (had) very linear motors. You could also look into the Exodus lines, they are now using Xbl2 motors also, but I haven't tried one of thier new subs yet so I can't comment....

But, was this what you were really after?

I assure you, i knew what i was paying for. it didnt help when my tinsels ripped out of the spider. it didnt help when the coil former came detatched (bad glue run from precision) it sure didnt help when i had to call and try and deal with tc sounds "customer service" (a joke at best) ya, i enjoyed my tc stuff. i really did. i didnt enjoy the fact that they were really made with subpar parts.

I'm lucky, I never had any of those horror stories happen to me, I know they did though.

The only drivers I had (ongoing) problems with were some Adire ones...

A friend of mine still has one of the original (mid 90's) 12" underhung TC drivers going strong... He uses it daily...

$1000.00 driver?? Phuck it..I'd spend that grand on 2 Fi's or anything made under SSA.
