It is going to look even more like a ghetto cruiser if I get it tinted... Last year I was quoted 150 for the back 5 windows at 35% (legal kansas limit), but I'm not sure if I want it that dark or not.

Yeah 35 isn't much. When i bought my explorer I went in and looked at their display of tints and it was almost like 35 wasn't there. I chose 18 or something. Apparently shops don't care about legal limits when they install your stuff, they just told me it's under the limit so beware. They also discounted the price if I paid in cash. Hmm....

In Baytown everyone north of 146 will only do 35 (the legal limit). First place I went to south of 146 said, "we can do what ever you like" lol. But they charge $10 extra for it. Big whoop though, 120-130

Was that for all of your windows? Mine was 60 for the front two. I thought that was pretty reasonable.

Hell I still need to build my box for the subs. I have 2 Maelstroms and a QSC just sitting there begging to start warping my foundation.

I can't decide if I want to go ported on my MAW 15's or go a single sealed with the Mag 12. A snazzy sealed box with a plate amp for the Mag is starting to sound good to me.

I don't know if it's this sub's low inherent distortion or what, but I'm noticing that it is very easy to hear clipping compared to other subs.

Though I'm beginning to wonder how similar these new Mags are to the last Shiva? I wonder how the Shiva-X sounds? Similar but with twice the displacement?

Not really and super doubtful where you live. Some buildings up here, but we have a slightly more obvious reason.

Sean, what do you think about using polyfill instead of thinsulate in the structural cavities for dealing with airborne noise ? Like you used in the truck.

It appears to have the same fiber structure.

I can't find thinsulate over here. Haven't tried to import it by myself though.

Use cotton batting

Does it have any problems with moisture ? Not exactly sure if there is moisture in the areas where I want to use it.

Yep moisture will cause problems. Wool is okay too, but cotton is better except for the moisture.

You never want to get wool wet. Aside from the shrinking, just as with cotton, it smells horrible. Ever had a wool rug cleaned?

I've both washed and drycleaned them. Really stupid when manufacturers use a dryclean soluble dye on a wool rug. Never buy a red one from India.

35% is nothing lol

remember how dark the Imp is? that's 5% behind the B-pillar, and 15% between A and B

but it really does help during the summer

Tint shall be done this summer then. Also debating on smoking the taillights but who knows.

It's just as bad as people installing HIDs in a vehicle not designed for them and blinding the shit out of everone on the road. That's what really pisses me off.

and not illuminating the road as well either. putting headlights in for looks has got to be one of the stupidest and annoying wastes of money I can think of.

Well I think I fucked up, I did the paper work to accept my Stanford loan that Tech gave me. Anyways, I listed my lender as Bank of America. it was only for $6500 so I was going to use another loan to pay the rest off. Well I talked to my credit union and my dad wants to take out a 40k loan. He told me to go apply online, well I did and apparently I would have to list them as my lender on my Stanford loan, I don't think there is a way to change it so I think I just fucked myself.
