Small chop and some light flares to thicken it up. Yep

Of course, I'd have a hard time getting into it then.

No 2002 for me. Hard to go that far back in the Bm'er world from where I am now too.

Actually going to sell it?

I wish I had the money to pick that up, I think that would be a hell of a fun car. :)

I'm not even a Trekkie and that movie was fricking awesome.

My FIL wants to take all the SIL's to see it this weekend.

what kind of reliable 200+ hp motor can be dropped in a 68-71 bmw 2002 for less than $10k?

5.3L!

x2

You can drop a 5.3L into a 240sx and the 5.3L is lighter than the stock block

Good luck fitting one in a 2002, the M30 would go in a lot easier, it would stay in the family, can make more power than that chassis can handle and is flat out one of the most reliable engines the world has ever seen.

yeah i was looking for something about half that displacement. i'd like to keep weight to a minimum and reliability/efficiency to a maximum. i like the look of the bmw 2.5l as it was rated somewhere around 215hp stock iirc. the goal is a fast reliable daily driver with good highway mileage that looks stock but that tears up all the windy mountain roads here in cali. a standing quarter in the low 13's would be nice too.

i've been around some pretty amazing fires, including the 1991 oakland hills fire. the fire we have burning now, is the most hellish, awful, terrifying fire i've ever seen.

i took this pic last night with a broken point n' shoot digital. it doesn't look like much but those flames from that hotspot were 8-10 miles away and shining through a shit ton of smoke.

CIMG0015-1.jpg

the flames are a couple hundred feet high and blowing laterally for hundreds of feet at a time. i watch a home literally vaporize last night.

Late model 2.5 or a 2.8 so that at least you get a timing chain. ;)

my guess is most treckies will not like it for the reasons you did like it.

I'm going for sure.
