So I keep finding new things on my new car. I bought a line-loc and went to take a look at the car today and I flipped a switch on what I thought was the power for the aftercooler pump, but when I went to take off the car wouldn't move. I couldn't figure it out. I had to turn the car off to get it to release the brake pressure so I could move the car again. So after doing this three times, I finally turn the car on, and check the pump. It's running. I flip the switch off, the pump is still running. Now it clicks in. The switch is for a line-loc that's already on the car. I didn't know because I can't find the damn thing. Now I have a brand new line-loc I have to sell to avoid paying a re-stocking fee. I guess that's good though as it saves me the time installing it.

BTW, Brembo brakes are fucking awesome!

Which Brembo's?

These.

Sweet.

btw ryan how does the line loc work? The ones i've heard about I thought were completely mechanical, you step on the brake, press a button and it shuts off the flow so the fluid can't flow back (locking the brakes) and you press a button to release it. the style you're talking about must be different since it uses its own pump, does it just piggy back the stock lines?

I'm so fucking tired of CC bills, i'm heavily debating selling my 9861/701 combo and just picking up a pioneer 880 or something along those lines. I'm not going to ever have the time to compete so i feel like the 701 is just too much

It's just a solenoid that goes in-line between the MC and front brakes and it does just as you've stated. You can either use a toggle switch or a momentary button. On my car, it's a switch, so he must've just put it on there for burnouts. Funny thing is, that's exactly what I bought one for. :fing34:

The pump I was referring to was for my Aftercooler for my Vortech. It's basically and air to water intercooler, but Vortech calls them Aftercoolers.

This is what I'm talking about.

I raced an SRT with my 'Bird. Well I kept up with him until about 90 and then it was game over.

is your bird stock? because there's no way you should be able to come close to the srt if it is

i can tell you mine loves highway racing, i think the funnest race was a damn del sol (yea yea the story makes sense later). we're going up the mountain before christiansburg which is a huge long mountain with a pretty steep grade. He is being all fast and furious idiot style and pulls right up on my bumper and then cuts me off as he tries to speed off. I didn't even stomp down on it as we were already going about 80 and knew he had zero chance. He runs it up to about 95 which takes wayyyy too long. I shift down a gear and pull off from him by almost a car length, then slow back down and do it again. He won't even look over at me at this point so i slow down again, get right beside him and wait for him to look over, i make a running motion with my arms as i push the gas pedal down and leave him again, then slow down and do this about 3 times before he gives up.

Okay, let me rephrase. My 'Bird is stock, but it is a Super Coupe (super charged). It does have some balls to it. I pulled up to him doing about 60ish and then we took off. It was damn close up until about 85-90ish. For some reason my car beeps at me and tells me to up shift, but I have an automatic? At this point he's starting to really pull away.

Maybe someone can let me know why my car tells me to up shift.

I think he must have been playing with you some... a SRT has 130 more hp on you, and does the 1/4 2 seconds faster.

are you 100% sure it was an SRT? you're talking 330hp+stock in a car that's about 3200lbs and all of them had the auto (which is much better than the manual that i drove, POS 6-speed IMO)

Course I suppose some people probably have badged their car as the SRT to make it look 'cool'.

minji was telling me about a guy she works with that was "telling" her he carries a 9mm for safety

she seemed shocked when i told her that A) people who carry for safety don't fucking brag about it

b) anyone who knows guns doesn't refer to it as a "9mm"

Also, my car from about 60-90 is shocking for what it is.

in fairness the "ricey" one is actually a whale-tail style but it does not tickle my fancy at all
