One tomorrow at 9, it's the one that i'm going to have to take a shot in the jaw for. I'm failing the class and this final is comprehensive and counts 40% of my grade. I just hope he throws a D at me to be nice.

Then one on thursday at 1 and i'm done. I am highly debating taking this one high as fuck as I would need a negative grade to do poorly in this class.

Really overall kind of worried at what they're going to say to me about tomorrow's class. If i fail it, they're supposed to kick me out, but the rest of my classes should be A's with the exception of a C/B depending on how that final went.

here's what i have to know just from one of the lecturers, about two weeks worth of material ...

1.Describe the enterohepatic circulation of drugs with particular emphasis on the role of

Phase II and Phase III enzymes.

2. Define Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III metabolism.

3. Understand the mechanisms of PXR- and AhR- mediated gene transcription and how

they are involved in induction of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes.

4. Identify an AhR receptor ligand.

5. Reasonably predict metabolites resulting from P450-catalyzed aromatic

hydroxylation, heteroatom dealkylation, epoxidation, and alkyl oxidation.

6. Identify functional groups in molecules with the propensity for suicide (mechanismbased)

inhibtion of cytochromes P450.

7. Understand the mechanism of P450 inhibition by azole antifungal drugs.

8. Reasonably predict metabolites resulting from FMO-catalyzed oxidation.

9. Reasonably predict metabolites resulting from glucuronic acid and sulfate

conjugation.

10. Understand the mechanism by which acyl glucuronides covalently modify proteins.

11. Reasonably predict metabolites resulting from glutathione conjugation (including

mercapturic acid formation).

12. Understand the biotransformation and bioactivation pathways available to

acetaminophen and the factors governing which pathway dominates. Know structures of

important intermediates.
