i would LOVE to shave the door handles, probably my least favorite part of the car. Wonder how hard it would be to make the door poppers work instead of the "unlock" on the keyless entry.

Got the serial cable ordered so I can control the DCX unit from my front seat. The 12v PS and serial cable should be in by the end of the week and it should be up and running by sunday. :)

I've noticed that most all Ford owners say "it gets the job done". "it gets the job done" = mediocrity. It gets it done but don't ask much else. That doesn't sell me vehicles.

What more do you want from a utility vehicle? :)

The E-150 is nothing but a big box with an engine and two seats in it. I'm not going to ask for thrilling performance, because when I'm hauling plywood or moving stuff I'm not asking for a thrilling ride, I'm asking for utility. Literally, it is a point-A to point-B vehicle, and I have no demands beyond that. That's where the motorcycle would come in ;)

Sure, when I sat in Brooksie's H-D F-250, yes, I would have a very different set of expectations from that vehicle than a standard commercial vehicle, because that's trying to fit in a different market niche.

god damn it, can an audio install ever just go smoothly?

yes the door skin on the crossfire is beautiful, easy to seal up and will be easy to deaden. But they used a funky spacer for the stock speaker that i will have to reuse, but will have to cut up as well. Oh well, fuck it. Time to grab the keyhole saw and go to work!

not mine obviously, but shows what i'm talking about. It just seems out of place to me, anyone else?

I don't think the door handles look bad, but the name thing is a little tacky.

My feelings on the Ford/GM issue quoted from the Ford/GM topic....
I really have a complete dislike for V8 ford trucks... really just fords trucks in general. When I was looking for a truck I was stretching to find what I wanted in my price range for GM but I could find fords comparably equipped easily, which to me, says something. i really do think any vehicle with proper maintenance will last a long long time. I know my neighbor has an old ford from back when I was a kid that's still ticking and I know a lady with an F-150 that is older and still looks immaculate. I know we just donated our 90 model Chevy with an engine that was still very strong and my uncle got rid of a chevy with over 250K, and another friend of our had one with well over 250K and ran as good as the day he bought it. Its really give and take, but I have to say that IMO the Fords I have been in have felt like dogs. And really, I'd rather own something that performs better and may break a little more than something that is no where near thrilling but does run. I've noticed that most all Ford owners say "it gets the job done". "it gets the job done" = mediocrity. It gets it done but don't ask much else. That doesn't sell me vehicles.

Point in Case...

My Polaris Sportsman weighs more, and breaks a little more than my buddies Honda Rancher (Both the same year model). BUT when it comes to riding my ass stays planted to the seat while my true 4wd (no limited slip BS) gets me around things and my buddy is jumping off the bike because he has to man handle his bike out of the hole, but it does "get the job done". It really has to be a bit embarrassing when your riding with the ladies and you have to ask them to jump off to get out a hole that the buddy in front just cruised through with another chick on. So sure I have some more maintenance issues but its a hell of a trade for something that is more stable has much better midrange (where you really need it in an ATV) and gets me where I want and overall just performs better

A little off topic but I feel the same way in both situations

my friend has a polaris, and another an arctic cat, both extremely heavy, but have alot of power, and theres are so much faster, but when it comes to the mud, our rancher 420 and foreman 500 always prevails =-)

Found out that the other night my roommate was leaving a party and was walking home alone and 3 blocks from the house a Jeep went past him, turned around, and parked a block behind him. Two guys got out and started following him, he started walking faster and then they broke into a jog, my roommate proceeded to start sprinting to the house, got here and locked the door behind him.

Needless to say that doesn't make me want to walk alone but if I'm not drinking I'm sure as hell carrying a form of defense.

the ppl following him started jogging?

just tryin to clarify that.

cuz that is friecken nuts!

I now have the 9861 installed in the crossfire. The black does NOT fit in. And the blue buttons definitely need to be changed to green but not sure I can do that.

As long as you are talking a non body armor scenario, a .22 w/ heavy bullets will do the trick provided you can shoot.

well not only people, i plan on carrieng it when i got to hunt as a "really bad situation" kinda thing, like a deer get up and try to attack me, or some stupid thing like that, but for people and protection, its all good, the head is a perfect round target, like i said before "dead men tell no tails", they cant testify saying that my life wasnt in danger, its my word and my word only
