So I called about insurance on the Audi today, and NO FUCKING WAY IN HELL AM I LETTING THEM RAPE ME IN THE ASS.

So . . . . I think I am done with even looking at something European until about 38 years of age. Perhaps if I had not just had a child, but damn they are out of their minds.

On another note, I have been interested in the Scion xB simply for it's versatility, Toyota reliability, and utterly utilitarian attributes. It just so happens that my sister's man-toy has a new one and I checked it out today. I must say that for $16K, you really cannot beat this vehicle. Not the most attractive thing, nor performance-oriented, but I have 2 other Mustangs to play with, and well, to be honest, I really like the thing.

It isn't that the German cars are expensive to insure, but that you are looking at ones that are expensive to fix and regularly crashed. My M5 insurance is nearly half the price of my Silverado's. Curious as to what insurance company you are using as I'd actually expect at the buy in price for the A3 that it would be somewhat reasonable to insure. How bad was it?

Progressive, and I was quoted $1300/6 months. The Volvo They quoted me $1K/6 months, and even the 04 S60R I looked at was $1200/ 6 months. I think for the most part it was becuase 1, the Volvo is a brand new model (C30), and the A3 is only a few years old, but shit. I have a perfect driving record, always pay my bill on time, never made a claim with ANY company, a few months shy of 30, etc. . .

I'm half-tempted to buy another Taurus and enjoy the cheapness on every front and splurge my savings away on a set of twins and a stroker kit for the Cobra, but then what's the point in that when I don't even drive the damn car now.

Damn It! You caught me again! lol, thats why I said 4.56's everyone knows 4.10s are plenty enough for 33's, duh. I dunno though I just don't see the truck looking that good with those fender flares on stock lift. But I might have discovered tonight that the flares can be removed ( I think there glued along the seem of the top)

But I know you always will make compromises. Point In Case - I will add a 25lb Icon with a ported box, 2 (eventually 3) Amps, and loads of deadener. Plans are for a tool box, air compressor, train horns, extra battery (if needed) and HO alt (if needed). So I'm already killing myself with weight in that department.

I also plan to keep the 5.3 backed with the 4L60e. If I REALLY wanted to get serious and not care about gas mileage a 6.0L or 408 would be going in, backed by a 4L80e no questions asked.

So yes power/speed is important, but so is a bad ass truck with functionality as well as speed. When I want to be faster I'll buy a 2000 Camaro/Trans Am call up my buddy Jared and say lets make it happen and be running 11.5 1/4's and 1.5x 60's on Cam
