Got a call back from Forney, left a message with Instron, and now to call MTS and have them tell me they don't do what I want to do...

What exactly do you need done?

You have a PM sir. :)

are you going to run those fostex IB. I was looking at those also to pair up with the l8's

Yep, I'll know more once they are actually in the dash. I still haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do it yet though. Really don't want to cut the dash pad up and not sure there is really to much room in the vents up there. Figuring on putting them up in the corners (but not to far up in there), cutting a hole for them but mounting them up underneath the dash depending on where I can find room for them. I also have that damn airbag to work around too. I can make a trim piece so the hole in the dash doesn't bad at all but still not sure about cutting it up. But what the hell.

You got my ears thinking about those again

=)

I told you, and of course, R2 that is what I'd do.

pffffFF you're trying to get me to go 3 way.

I have drawn it out on paper about 15 times and I still get confused with the details. I can't imagine tuning it. But I will probably end up with those same fostex's and go 2 way..... then later... I'll think about 3 way.. then spend more. =P

Mine should be in before the end of the week. :)

w000t stratusfaction is going to be replaced.

as of right now i'm thinking scion Tc, but that may change

:slayer:

Lots in and around that price point, especially a year or two old.

so far my priorities are

#1. gas mileage, really need upper 20s on highway and would like to see mid 20s for my combined driving.

#2. reliability, i put this below gas mileage because i would hope that in today's market all cars are reliable

#3. Looks, I like the Tc, and I"d prefer a 2door,

#4. Options.....gotta have cruise, power windows, abs and i think that's about all that i really care about at this point.

#5. if it's used, has to be about 40k or less (would be far more comfortable with 20k)

If #2 is assumed that today's cars are reliable why the ridiculously new low mileage?? At your age, I'd never buy anything anywhere near that new. Buy something way nicer and older.

Explorers are super-cheap right now. Work pays for my fuel and then some, so I'm not worried about fuel economy. 4WD would be handy around here in the winter months, but I am not a fan of it. I prefer a RWD car in the winter as most of my experience in winter comes from there.

The LS includes TC, so that is a plus and it's a Lincoln, so re-sale should be retained, but the Marauder is holding value above the LS right now and they are a rarer breed. I'm leaning more towards the M as they are just mean with some simple mods, and with the Lincoln, well, mods are scarce and expensive with it's exotic drivetrain. I'm just stumped on this one.

Long term I'd put my money on the M holding value.

Man that sounds backwards to me, ha. RWD is the worst for the winter IMO. 4WD is so nice for the winter, especially when there is packed snow on the ground. You don't have to worry about the rear end sliding around you on corners on a RWD or the front tires just skidding straight instead of turning on a FWD. But those usually only happened if you gave it too much gas during the turn. All my previous cars were FWD and I did all right, but my Explorer is 4WD and you can just flip it on and not have to worry about a thing. I plowed through 10-12" of fresh snow on the lawn at my grandparent's farm and it was so fun and never even hinted at getting stuck. No way I could have even tried that in my old car.

I occasionally drive the M5 on the ice and love it :)

btw, most fun car i drove today was by FAR a mini cooper s turbocharged

drover the supercharged version about 2 years ago and loved it, the turbo is even better. even with the auto tranny that car surprised the hell out of me

i love our cooper s. we are talking about adding another one to the family and letting the boy have the current one. it's definitely a big, fun, fast and quick go cart. and with the 6 spd, it's just too much fun.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I've always thought those would be fun little cars, but I'm not sure how practical it would be for me. I'm 6'3" so not only would I question how well I'd fit, but half the reason I got my SUV was so that I wouldn't feel like i'm lifting myself off of the ground every time I get out, or vice versa for getting in. That's a long way for me to crouch down to get into every day. With my Explorer I basically slide right in without having to drop my hips. I love it.

i'm 6'2" and 228pds. i fit fine. the doors are huge, the seats go waaay back and it doesn't give off the feeling of being as low to the ground as it actually is. my son is 5'8", and sitting behind my wife, he has plenty of room.

in short, it's not a family car, but can do a short bit of duty and it's not as hard to get in and out of as one might think.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Same with my dad's Accent 3 door. I'm 6'0" and I have managed on more than a few excursions to curl up in the backseat to catch some Zzz's. Works fairly well for up to three Americans, luggage included, as a matter of fact. Nice car.

three americans? What is the ratio of americans to other nationalities?

I suppose you can fit four (with luggage) provided two are narrow shouldered/narrow hipped. I don't think it would be the best way to take a road trip for 4, but it sure wouldn't be the worst

I feel like such crap. I wish Ephedra wasn't banned. It's the ONLY thing that stops a cold or stuffy shit filled sinus issue cold in it's tracks. Never makes me feel goofy or jittery.

Day Quill works ok but I feel high as a kite and overly turbo charged on it for some reason. Alka seltzer sometimes works too if it's a bad cold, but if it's just the sinus, usualy not strong enough.

I went to the fair of saturday and got into negotiations with a cal spa guy. they knocked about 22% off the "specialy fair pricing"

I wasn't completely impressed with the selection though.... it was just pretty good.

I might go to a place down by you Sean, somewhere of hghwy 7 in tonka. They have a green policy for their hot tubs, and a electrical garuntee. Pretty sweet deal IMHO. I just hope they are not retarded over priced. Then I need to talk the wife into it. She wants a porch first then the tub.

=P

and JESUS.

The MN state fair is the BEST place to find underagers if you are on the prowel. I went with a buddy and the W stayed home as she hates other humans in general, and I was shaking off 15-17 year old girls like crazy, and I'm fat any ugly. Good thing I was there drinking.

who here is running 701 with a double din alpine unit? If i go TC i'll be going that route so i can actually use all the crap i have sitting around. That would unfortunately involve getting rid of the 9861

diyma members are afraid to reply to pm's :(

Thanks dude but the problem got solved sort of. Good friend of mine sold his 13w7 and wanted something faster...looked for a pair of idmax's but nobody would answer :(

Ended up buying a new 13w6v2. We'll see how he likes it.

Finance teacher turned out to be an Italian transplant. He looks Italian, his name is clearly Italian, but by god he speaks English like a Brahman...
