do hills and curves affect gas mileage a lot? I figured I should be getting more than 19.5 mpg when I go 55 mph on this road, but it's very hilly and curvy. If it's not one it's the other, which is also a reason I like to take it. It's fun. Fortunately the hills aren't so big and my Explorer only downshifts 1-2 times during the 20 minute drive. I've gotten upwards of 24 when I've gone on long trips going 65 out in relatively flat western Kansas, so I figured I should be getting that when I go 55 on this road. But I do have a couple blocks in town at each end of the drive.

I notice about a 3-5 mpg difference driving all highway through the prairies vs. all highway through the mountains.

Note when I say mountains I am truly speaking of being 5800 feet up ...

I'd be happy with 19.5 around Lawrence, don't think that is to shabby for the area and vehicle the hills and town driving is going to really affect the mileage vs western KS where there isn't a hill for 200miles.

Looking at putting in a decent but yet simple audio system in the Cadillac, Fostex FF85's in the dash, 6.5" MLI in the doors and a single sub IB in the rear deck. The only problem is that I can't find a damn dash kit for my car to integrate an aftermarket radio into it, and being able to keep the steering wheel mounted volume control would be awesome though I don't think it'll happen. I'm confident in my ability to make a custom dash mount for a radio and having it look decent but I sure as hell don't want to.

Headers cancelled for today. It started raining and I really had other stuff to do.

I think I might cancel my trip to Denton for the LS1Truck meet as well. Really don't want to spend all the money for that weekend

Boo...

curves... i dunno, but hills definitely do

you'll get the best mpg with constant throttle input (flat areas)

Nice choice for midbass :D

Those little buggers are making me want stronger doors

Did you check Metra for dash kits ?

Starbucks is closing 600 stores nationwide....I'd have thought they would at least shut down one of them in Nac. There's two there in a town of less than 28 thousand...

Hmm, owner of the 550F sent me much better pictures, tank doesn't look that bad cosmetically except for a quarter-sized dent in the low point of it...definitely something I could live with until I could find another tank to put on it, or have it fixed if there's a good way to do that...we'll see if anyone snatches it in the next few weeks. The rest of it looks great cosmetically.
