Chopsticks kick my ass after a while. I get hand cramps and such. And once the rice isn't as warm and you start messing with it it loses its cohesive abilities and its harder to eat.

Drive like you ride a bike

For you cyclists looking for a way to wrap your head around the subject of efficient motoring: drive like you bike.

Meaning, if you think about spending energy as wisely in your car as you do when you ride, you should automatically become aware of several of the major tips on this list, such as:

a) Ensuring your tires are properly inflated & vehicle is in good mechanical condition, for reduced rolling & mechanical resistance.

b) Smart braking: you'll spend more distance coasting up to stops (you don't pedal madly towards stop signs and then jam on the binders, do you?)

c) You'll "drive with load" on hills (you don't usually power up hills trying to maintain your previous cruising speed, do you?)

d) You'll reduce speed (because cyclists are highly attuned to the relationship between aerodynamic drag and the energy consumed to travel at high speed).

I really liked this...

Now I'm not saying that man has NO impact. I just don't know that we can distinguish between what is man-made and what is natural.

I'd agree with that. All of what we're dumping into the atmosphere can't be positive, it'll bite us in the ass down the road sometime...

I think that sometime is now, at least if you're in China and talking about pleasurable days. Some of them haven't seen the sun in years due to the smog in their cities.

Which I think will have a world impact at some time. Not because the air pollution will affect the world, but because I think at some point the Chinese citizens will grow tired of the dirty ways and demand better air quality from the government. This will cause increased restriction for them and increase the cost of goods from there a ton. The world market will change. But who knows how far away that is or if it'll even happen. They are still using coal mining techniques that the US banned 100 years ago. So it may be 100 or more years from now, and obviously depends on if the government changes at all from what it is now and has been. But just my thought.
