I wouldn't say that the full range market is huge, marketeers have a hard time convincing non-in-the-knows the value of a single driver when a stack of shitty ones in a box look so impressive.

Very sad, but yet very true...

Perhaps pre-built with a grill so no one knows, then BIB is impressive even with a single driver.

I have faith. I found a way to resock them and while I am at it, I think I will replace the oak with maple. :)

<--obviously sold on the inside already

How much power are you giving them? I am not so sure my 100w will do what I need it to do.

Waiting for my buddy to come over so we can "summerize" his new boat.

3-4 "decorative" drivers would help

And the in-the-knows will just go ahead and build the things anyway :)

A flat pack falls precariously into the no-man's-land between DIY and prebuilt...

I had my QSC Powerlight 1.0HV on them, I think its rated at 300w or so and if I was going to pick a new amp for 'em that is the power range I would look at. 100w would run them I'm sure but I think you'd be a lot happier with more power.

redneck root cellar

I am too lazy to go downstairs so mine are in what used to be the coat closet. The spot I put the shitty ply temp shelves.

Luckily it is in the basement so fan noises won't be an issue as the speaks will be upstairs.

I still want to rebuild my BIB's using another driver in the baffle on a low pass for an extra low freq boost...

I don't have shoeboxes lying around, but you could probably fit a potato in the boxes the Svetlana triodes come in...:D

If someone wasn't careful with the volume control you could pop the fuses on 'em without clipping so it had more than enough power, but as much as you could get would be great for the dynamics I think. As well as getting stereo bass crossed over higher made them really shine for the time that I had them running with the subs.

The subs will be in the next room over, these are going in the conversational living room not the party room.

:doit:

The main problem with that is the shear size of them, basically double the current size and good god thats a lot of wood and space. you'd be looking at probably 7-10 sheets of ply per if you were to double everything and brace...
