From personal experience, I greatly prefer RWD to FWD in the snow and ice. Being able to turn with set of wheels and accelerate with the other is a big advantage.

Sean Sweet grill. I've been wavering on going gas and coal and if I really want to throw down. I usualy just work 3 kettle old rusted webbers with 1 broken leg on each. Not a BBQ without the grill tipping once!

Verry nice mang.

My favorite local meat place is Fogo... I'm addicted. I love murrays too though golden and silver are just too good to let go.... and the "chateaubriand".

I have one of these for when I am in the charcoal mood.

Fogo and Murrays, so you are in Minny eh? Oh, don't leave out Manny's.

IMO, Fwd is always a bad idea.

what about snow-driving?

not that I've ever driven in snow, just heard it's better for that

Only if you drive poorly.

Here is the real question on a car with a perfect 50/50 weight balance what do you think will have more snow traction fwd or rwd? Also, what will brake better?

Obviously they will be the same, the question then comes down to predictability and such and having a fwd car means understeer which really, really fucks you when things get shitty. If you have one of these dumb front drive cars that are 70% front weight, then sure it will take off better but how about turning and other things? There is a reason that Mercedes and BMW don't and won't build a front drive platform, they refuse to make those compromises.

Taking a break from working in the shop. Painting the Shellac and the MDF portion of the BIB's was a pain in the ass. It was soaking that stuff up like crazy.

Got The Z completely stripped and a "1.5" layers on the outer door panel. (1.5 means an entire layer then another layer of the places more prone to resonating.

Going off of DevilDrivers post...

Rear wheel drive give you control over both sets of tires. In a FWD car when the rear tires lose traction you are pretty much screwed as you have no way to control them IMO.

I will always prefer RWD. I've driven some front wheel drives that could really take some decent turns, but then again I've never really driven any good RWD car. Come to think of it, the only RWD car I can remember driving atm was a 69 Caddilac El Dorado, "Le Rex de Angulus" <--The king of the corners :) and a V6 Camaro

Plus in the snow rwd is fun, oversteering/drifting with no tire consequences ftw. Plus the look on the soccer mom's face in the oncoming lane is priceless as you drive down the street at right angles to traffic.

To clarify exactly what I meant....

With FWD, you have understeer to deal with. FWD is way, way easier to get going with in the winter. But when you try to brake or take a corner, you just skate straight through it. With RWD, you have oversteer to deal with. It is harder to get going (especially in a truck like mine, with no weight in the back). The positive is that when you head into a corner, you can steer and gas your way out of it...gently swing the ass end around a bit and you've got a new, safer trajectory. But you have to be careful because if you give it too much gas, your momentum will continue to take you straight through the corner...except you'll do it backwards or sideways.

I can do tight 360's like nothing in my truck during the winter if I want to...essentially keep the front tires planted and spin the ass around...not something I can say for any FWD car I've driven.

Bingo. I would never dare do it anywhere near traffic, but a good driver can go sideways in a controlled fashion for days if they know what they're doing.

The only hard part is when the road surface goes from snow to ice to blacktop to ice, other than that controlled drifting is half the fun of winter.

<--definitely does it in traffic

*will add the last time I crashed doing so was 15 years ago I had a run in with a tree. It was the first time I was ice drifting in a 4wd and I found out the really hard way that counter steering in 4wd and rwd are NOT the same.
