i really have tried and tried to help my ex roomie out but he cannot shoot an auto to save his life. he's ok with a revolver but can't hit the broad side of a barn with an auto.

we worked one day with my 1911 and he eventually got really good, i had to constantly correct his grip but eventually he got it down. but then switch over to the 9mm and he was back to shooting 3y groups. Any clue why this would be? he flinches very little, it's got to be something with how he's sighting but i can't figure it out to save my life.

Combination of his grip and his sighting method, it depends on where hes looking when hes aiming, at the front sight, target, or rear site.

ISSF shooting (what I shoot), you ONLY look at the front sight, if I remember correctly, when shooting something like speed plates you look at the target and not at your sights. *never shot speed plates*

collar tab??

The little plastic rods that are in the points of the collars of decent dress shirts.

Anyone have any good recommendations for new surge suppressors? I'm currently looking at the Tripp Lite stuff, a big badass one is preferred.

Polyphaser gas-tubes on the main AC lines :D

Stuff is damn near indestructible...

If I get a pre-amp, what kind of amp would I need to drive my mains ? I mean could I use my integrated amp ?

Can the gear in the US work on 220v ?

If your integrated amp has a way to bypass its own preamp section, yes. The NAD 3020 I had could do that, so you could run it as either a pre-amp or power amp depending on which inputs you used. When used as an integrated, there was a little metal jumper in between the jacks.

As for 220V, not unless you've got a transformer of some kind...I know a lot of RF amps that work on 220V, but not many in the audio world :)

10 years here. Can't remember what the prescription is (-0.5 sounds right). Going to see if I can do corrective surgery next trip.

I would go on a site like DIYAudio and ask around what people are using for stepdown transformers so you can use 120VAC gear.

might be an eye dominance issue. more then likely, gun/grip issues. switching from a semi custom 1911 like yours to (what 9mm?) anyother gun is going to create some issues. also, most revolvers have fat grips, those on autos might be too flat and he's not controling the rcoil as he should.

speed/plate shooting involves looking at the front sight as well. for the fast guys anyway. if your punching paper slow fire, front and rear are needed.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Anyone heard of modifying a power conditioner with a remote turn on switch?

All I want is a power conditioner with a fricking on/off remote control on it. I don't want to have to make my own but it is looking like I might have to. With where universal remotes are in the technology world, I don't see why they don't have these.

I ask for a low-budget amplifier and they say 200 euros minimum for something decent. :(

Working on unwinding the new power supply.

Managed to wire the coils right the first go :D

Mucho thanks to the physics lab for donating it. No noise ftw.

Jim, I think a custom transformer shouldn't be too expensive. I mean I'm not going to need more than 500VA....

So, depending on the options I may just buy a pre-amp and a separate amp from the us :)

Back to unwinding. It's going to take awhile :(
