ryan, i believe the guy told me the bbk was runnin at about 10pds of boost, that sound about right?

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

bout right. mild blowers run 8-12psi.

with 10psi, which TB?, how big of injectors?, stock rotating assembly & top end?, stock ecu... guesstimate: 300-320bhp at the flywheel.

Sounds about right. No way in hell you're getting a 100%increase in HP. That's pretty much impossible no matter the mods. I don't know who produced the blower for BBK, so I can't comment on the potential. However, being it's a positive displacement blower, you can bet you're torque rating is pushing above 400. Get a good clutch.

Get a good main girdle and the stock block can hold up to 500Horse. ANy more and you're pushing it. Ford changed to hypereutectic pistons on the 93s so you are good to go there.

First thing I would check would be the rear main seal. Notorious leak for the 5.0

Wow, only 300-320 hp to the flywheel w/ 10 psi of boost? My SS does that and more to the rear wheels stock :o

And that is why I don't drive a rustang, err mustang. Sorry :lame:

we're talking centrifugal blower, not exhaust turbine.

stock intake & heads are a bit resrictive.

injectors are larger...dunno how big...

block and everything stock...

TB..dunno...

ecu, stock, but there is a boost controller for the blower..

maybe i can get it dyno'd where it's at....they have a chassis dyno...

also was told to NOT try to free up anymore air at the moment without doing other blower mods...the blower would have a hard time creating boost if the motor flowed to freely...

any truth to this?

And what did the Camaros do at the flyhweel back in 91? The foxes were still whipping the F-bodies come 93 even with 70 less horses. :bartmoon:

How much money did you spend on that SS? This Mustang was maybe $12K new, add the blower onto that and you have $15K at the most. Cost now, about a third of that. Now the SS doesn't even compare. Hell, even a Z doesn't. This little car with that power will give a stock SS a run for it's money. There's always differences in criteria that makes it nearly impossible to compare cars that far apart in age.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Centrifugal will make higher boost levels ate higher RPMs, where as the positive displacement type(Roots) will produce a flatter boost curve throughout the RPM range and will taper off towards the upper end. IMO, positive displacement blowers are much better suited for the street as you have instant boost and most of it right away. The centrifugal will keep producing more as the power climbs, but when you're at 1500 with the positive displacement, you'll have 10psi, whereas the centrifugal will be around 3 or 4.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Kent, the blower will produce the boost no matter what. The other mods are just going to change how the engine reacts to the boost. WHomever told you this was, well, stupid. You are putting more air and fuel into the engine, hence, you want to get more air out. The ability of the engine to handle the added air and fuel will be dependant upon the mods. A better head and intake package could easily net you an extra 50-75 HP at least with the added pressure. Pick up an issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords or 5.0 and head to the mustang forums. Then you'll see the capable little monster you have in your hands.

How COULD the deck rattle if it's a hatchback? There is no deck.
