We need another 190k to get on big-boards.com, I find it really funny what some of the boards that have more posts then SSA consist of.

what do they consist of?

Harry Potter, Jam Bands, Russian Overclockers, Clay Akien etc. Haha, just a random selection from this list : Big-Boards link (long load time).

I believe Mike of SS owns or runs the Shroomery board which is in the top 200.

On this day in 2004, longtime Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings finally lost, leaving him with $2,520,700, television's all-time biggest game show haul. In 1999, British Aerospace and Marconi Electronic Systems merged to form BAE Systems, Europe's largest defence contractor and the fourth largest aerospace firm in the world. In 1974, Donald Johanson, Maurice Taieb, Yves Coppens and Tim White discovered Lucy (Australopithecus) in the Middle Awash of Ethiopia's Afar Depression. And in 1934, the steam locomotive Flying Scotsman became the first to officially exceed 100mph. Happy Birthday Clay Aiken (1978), Ben Stiller (1965), Bo Jackson (1962), Colin Mochrie (1957), Billy Idol (1955), Mandy Patinkin (1952), David Mamet (1947), Ridley Scott (1937), Abbie Hoffman (1936-1989), Dick Clark (1929), Richard Crenna (1926-2003), Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (1918), Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965), Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain, 1835-1910) and Jonathan Swift (1667-1745). RIP Tiny Tim (d. 1996) and Oscar Wilde (1900).

Would ya'll be interested in data as to the bond strength relationship between butt joints on birch ply/MDF with titebond I/II/III, liquid nails adhesive, various forms of caulking and such?

Basically make up the joints and break them in the lab at work *breaking in pure tension*. I'm thinking of doing this so the idiots on the other site will see what adhesives are stronger and quit arguing. *not sure anything can get them to shut up*

But then there is the issue of what last longer and which breaks down more over time etc etc...

Not a factor. The time it would take for the joints to actually break down would only matter in fine home audio. No one keeps a woofer box long enough to matter. The places where it would matter is heirloom style home audio speakers, and the people building them know what the hell they are doing anyways. :)

Not even a factor in a harsher car enviroment?

Highly doubt it.

Moisture is the enemy of all particle boards. Coat any composite particle boards with some sort of water barrier and they will outlast natural wood by lifetimes. Those guys were using their noggins when they came up with composites , wasn't just to have something to do with their scrap. All though that was a huge part of it Most adhesives once cured or dried however are impervious to moisture. Keep your enclosures out of the sun, and puddles of water in your car. And you should have next to no deterioraton what so ever:)
