So going to the liquor store I raced a late model big v6 Nissan Altima and got beat by about a car and a half, with a couple of quite cute chicks in it. Didn't get any numbers though

I drive fairly aggressively anyways and I accelerated to keep up with them a little bit going down one of the main roads in town, they they went past me, so then I pushed down on the loud pedal a little harder and got past them. Needless to say I was granted with a red light then and proceded to roll into the loud pedal pretty hard and noticed she had jumped on it so I put the pedal to the metal got the lead and was pulling and then she just pulled out in front and continued gaining. It was great, the chicks were giggling as I drove past and gave them a thumbs up (I was with my roommates who did the same).

Oh yea, I drive a stock '90 1/2 ton chevy with the 305 and the auto.

That got me pretty well stoked.

Better than when I got smoked by a Blacksburg Transit bus one night

i had a 4 second race with a mustang the other day (not newest style, one before that) was a convertible, huge dual exhausts. We were on the ramp getting on to 460 and as we enter the ramp he tries to show off and stomps down on it, only thing that saved me was i was still in the straight patch when i heard him so i was able to get a little speed before entering the kiss your ass on-ramp. I can't imagine the car is THAT awful in curves but i caught up to the pucker and pulled right up on his bumper, stayed there until the road got straight again... then he walked away from me, easily

when i was younger, something similiar got me my first speeding ticket. driving a friends hopped up el camino, we spied a vw bug full of hotties, so i smashed the fast pedal to catch up. caught them in about two blocks, and then i see the cherries. luckily the cop knew me as i was gunned at 98 in a 25. the speedo stuck at 34, so when he asked if i knew how fast i was going, i looked at the dash, the needle was still pointing at 34, and with a straight face said, "34mph". lol, i'm so glad i knew that man, he wrote teh ticket for 34 in a 25.

oh, and we didn't land any digits either.

I know for a fact that car had me in HP (probably by about 100hp), it had the 3.4L or 3.6L I think, it was a 3 something anyways. I think I've only got like a 150hp or something ridiculous like that, I had her till about 50mph then she pulled on me like crazy.

Reminds me, couple years ago a friend and I went down to Mississippi to shoot in a collegiate pistol match and took his '02 LS1 Trans Am. FYI: NEVER drive those in snow, it snowed from St. Louis all the way down to where we were going in Mississippi.

On the way back we got a couple races, some SS Monte Carlo wanted to race (late model with the 3.8L), he flew by me and motioned to bring it, so I waited a little bit then mashed it and took hardly any time at all to catch up and pass him doing a buck twenty. He didn't want any more after that

Then some guys in a Mercedes SUV tried to race, I think they just wanted to see us get up on it, so needless to say we did to show off.

Raced a new body style mustang that weekend too, stayed dead even from about 60-100 when we had to shut it down from traffic.

i was at sears today on a break and sold a router, a guy was asking what the difference was between the fixed base and plunge, and why he'd need one or the other, i watched him go through 3 salesmen all trying to bullchit him, and he'd tell them to go away because he knew they didn't know what they were talking about. After they all left i went up to him and explained it, he thanked me and picked up the plunge, i realized he thought i worked there cause i still had my gap lanyard on, i stopped him and let him know i didn't. It would have been funny watching them try to figure out who got my commission.

They are computer trained which in reality means they know nothing unless they are a hobbyist. It;s quite sad how little the salespeople actually know about the products they are selling.

The facts about the Mustang. . . Ford doesn't need to build any power or suspension into them because the majority of them are modded anyways. Thank God, because let me tell you, the factory geometry is SHIT.

They'll never catch on to GM. They will always be underpowered, overweight, and poorly suspended. IT's a fact, but the aftermarket is so huge for them, I don't think Ford even wants to really bother with actually making something performance correct from the factory.

Granted, I can't really complain about what they've done, as I would do it as well. They sell the cars by the millions just on the name, but damn, sometimes, I just want to smack them. Bump the displacement up to that of the GM products, shed some weight, ALA the Camaro, and put a good suspension under the damn thing like it should be.

I get much enjoyment out of modifying my car, but if it came with a better base, it'd be even more fun. Welcome to corporate America.
