if anyone has a cheap HU laying around with at least one pair of full range and one sub pre-out let me know.

What all capabilities do you need? I have an Eclipse 5303 lying around. This was a TOTL deck. Dead head.

Jim, if an edge is over lapping, just use a flush trim bit, two passes with a 1/2" one or a single pass with a 3/4" one works wonders. Sanding will rip up the top layer on the ply.

Actually a 1/4" bit would be best, a spiral at that. Flutes are closer together with less chance for ripping. Or course, if you go with the grain, you won't have a problem.

Another trick I like to use is to overlay the top piece with a piece of scrap. It will help to add some pressure on the top layer. I do this for drilling as well.

I've never overlaid the top layer, if it matters any I'll clamp scrap on the back when drilling through it to get rid of the tear out when the drill breaks through.

Also, Ryan are you referring to the 1/4" as the height or the bit diam?

My roommates (the art major) logic is beyond me, the nicest bike he owns is his 'daily' bike for to and from work/class, the pos worn out 80$ wal-mart special bike is the one he takes on long trips...

Explain that one to me...

You can't explain anything that is in the head of an art major.
