those do look very nice on paper it is between those and dynaudio 7" for my next mids

They aren't uber detailed in the upper midrange which would be my only knock. The MB is awesome and the ease of making them sound good is sweet, but the Excel W18's in my car smoke them in the MR. It is funny to hear the W18 breakup though-sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

how high up do they have probs since my vifas can play pretty low so mght be able to kill it with some x-over play

*most I've ever seen Aaron post in the hop since joining in Sept*

I am not usually an iHop'er because I was more worried about the other sections keeping traffic but at this point any traffic is good, just changes my most posts %'age hehe

Its good. I like the hop when we banter around, pretty much my only relaxation as in my job I have no colleagues, don't work with anybody, have no peers, and travel a chit ton. Doesn't leave a lot of time for idle work chat which you surprisingly need somehow.

I am slacking on some region ids on a target here,

HOLY HELL!

Kent, that 12 combo you sold me. Uber happy with it. I turn it up to just below clipping point and my shot glasses where rattleing out of the case even on non bass heavy songs and the sub was centered and not corner loaded (actually 3 feet from the nearest wall too)

One bass heavy tracks (dirt off your sholders) My dad's 30lb shadow box in the living room was rattleing (kinda scared me so I turned it down).

After I'm done using the amp for testing I'm gonna glue some braces in there and corner load it and it will be my new sub. I was gonna run the Ava18 once I got my mag in but it is more than enough (allowable by the parents/neighbors) and blends well with my JBL bookshelf speakers.

If I can steal the video camera for a little while I will get some video. Not of the shaddow box rattleing because that is the last thing I want to break in the house.

The Excels have a nasty breakup about 4.5k, but either a notch filter or real steep slopes and you can get them to sound good decently high. Without any tricks mine are playing to 2k. If I did it again though I might look at the Aluminum cone L18. It is sort of between the two drivers. In a perfect world, I'd like to try the Scan speak Revelators but I don't think their price is rational for putting into a car.

Straight for mr. Gary f Biggs mouth

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whats behind those speaker grills?

Marks 4-runner, my car and Phils Benzo, have a couple things in common, but for the most part are all different and all use different speakers. I have discussed with Ben Oh from CA&E about doing a feature on the Buick..... It would be a behind the scenes feature, We would pull the dash and kicks to show what is up with the front stage. We would pull the amp rack and show how the wiring was done. All of the long hours and hard work would be revealed. I have thrown around the idea of retiring the Buick for quite some time. I did not want to open the car up for the world until I was done competing with it. This will be the Final year for the Buick to compete. After this season we will go to work on that article, and the feature will answer alot of questions. I donr know if Mark will open up his photo book of the 4-runner or not, mark is going to work on showing a few pictures of the Benzo soon, so keep your eyes open. You will be surprised at how simple it really is.....
