It'll be a new home for the uber in the Mazda.

New enclosure should be louder ... I don't think the current fiberglass one is 100% sealed. Couple that with the sub firing up towards the hatch in the new enclosure ... :)

Sounds great. Are you pretty precise with the fiberglass or do you pour then harden or what?

I'm being nosy because someday I'd like to help Matt fiberglass / know what he's doing.

I made the mold first ... taped off the area, applied strips of matt and cloth to the area. Couple layers later, popped out the mold, added a few more layers, mounted the ring, stretched the fleece, soaked the fleece, added a bunch of layers to strengthen it ... body filler, body filler, sand, sand, sand, sand, sand, sand, sand, body filler, sand, body filler ... get sick and tired of body filler and sanding and decide to cover it with cloth instead of painting it.

If I do something in the '02, it's going to be fiberglass. I really like working with it ... can create some pretty cool things in areas that are, for lack of a better term ... useless / wastes of space / could fit a wooden enclosure in there but waste far too much of the area.

Plus, it looks cool when it's done ... it's light, while strong.

I love woodworking (I do a lot of fine woodworking and carpentry), but dealing with fiberglass in-car is a treat :)

Pretty much summed up the essence of fiberglass right there.

I love the sand sand sand sand body filler sand sand.....cloth lol. so damn true.

external port! a round one, so it looks like a cannon.

If I do it, it will be external but not round since it will have to roll back on its self at least four times.

Trying to tune a .2 cuft box to 28hz is teh hard.

i don't wanna work today, i wanna ride. i didn't ride yesterday, rain was called for, but never came. i will ride today, rain or otherwise.

my boss actually questioned buying a harley over a jap cruiser...lol...he thought all harley's were 30k..hehe...said the jap bikes were far superior and cheaper. maybe back a few years, say amf years and early evo's, but not now, especially on the cheaper part. unless you buy used. but when you buy a harley, your making an investment, not a purchase. no jap cruiser will ever retain it's value like a harley.

he then said a vtx1800 will walk a harley..hmmm....it starts out with 350cc's more displacement...but i'll run it..hehe.....

sometimes i wonder about people...then i think again..

Hopefully Saturday for me too. Jap bikes I don't like (ya I know I have one, but it was $700). The new Victories are starting to hold near Harley like resale though. Glad the Japanese haven't figured out the whole cruiser thing yet.

yeah, but hte victories are cashing in on the cookie cutter chopper craze...and i jsut don't like the look of the jugs on a victory. nice bikes, but not for me.

the jap cruiser bike craze is going for outrageous big look. i don't like it, but it's catching. and i've owned a jap cruiser. while a nice ride, it's not the smae. one ride will explain it.

even comparing a victory to a harley...there is a difference. a big difference. though i'd own a victory over another jap cruiser....

no offense intended justin, you got a killer deal on a solid ride.

That was the sentiment I was trying to state.

My problem is, I get to pretty much choose. Either keep the car or have a Harley. Accessorizing the car with a cheap-ass bike is easy though.
