damn, why isnt led zepplin more renound for their guitar? Van Hailen is but i think Jimmy Page is at the level of Eddie Vanhalen.

 How dare you speak such travesty. Jimmy page >>>> eddie van halen anyday of the week. :)

whhaaaa??

all this geeetar talk and no mention of stevie ray vaughn?

i'm gonna get killed for this....but i'd put cc deville up there with eddie.

let's see...top 5 guitar players....

stevie ray vaughn

tie for second jimmy page/ randy rhoads/jimi hendrix

tie for third eddie van halen/ cc deville/ carlos santana

slash in at number 4

mick mars rounds out the 5 slots..

ok...flame away...lol...

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Mine goes a little different...

1st SRV

2nd Hendrix

3rd Steve Vai <sp?

4th Clapton

I don't really care for that album, it's his latest release. The older stuff pre orchestra is a lot better :)

Only problem with Clapton is too much coke, by the time he left Cream behind his playing was already on a downward slide.

In his cream, or derrick and the dominoes days yes. His newer stuff isn't as impressive to me :)

I keep realizing this isn't the "other place", we're not talking about what kind of rap bumps the hardest, yo.

Acutally we would also have to throw in some flamenco, bluegrass guitarists as well. Some of those guys are unbelievable :)

Surprising to me you guys haven't heard McLaughlin:

Here is a quick recording he did with Santana:

My memory says Phenomenon might show some of his chops

And a tribute album to Jimi, recorded with Buddy Miles.

I did, but just didn't tell you all.

Paco de Lucia made my list. Flamenco is his genre-o.
