Never have managed to catch one when I was actually trying too .

They are tough, even though much easier this time of year. Had a five fish day last year chasing them, but we still have to wait a few weeks before they open up.

The musky I have caught were while reeling in smaller smallies. Little to no fight, then zing off goes the smallie. Caught many heads of smallies

and Jmac, speaking from the other side, we consider everything ours, it's not right but most chicks are that way.

And if you love her and you're sure about it, nothing is too much to put up with...but when their habits/personality begin to chip away at your sanity maybe start planting seeds.

There is something on your reel called drag....keeps the nasty from happening. Of course, mine are clamped down like crazy since I don't want to swing and miss on a hookset....

100lbs is a beast of a fish, but not really a problem on a muskie stick lighter rods too if you have a week.
