Ugh, they stayed up until like 4 am fighting last night ...  I don't know how much more of this I can take ...

Once again, I awake to an apartment in shambles that I have to clean up ...

Time to put your foot down and tell them what's what. Either they clean up after themselves and obey your rules, or find somewhere else to stay.

If the wifey gets mad at you for it....she'll get over it. And if she doesn't, well....then she must not have much respect for you or your sanity, which makes her a non-keeper anyways.

Well, I've been *trying* to talk to my GF about it, but she makes excuses for them every time I voice my opinion ...

Rough estimate of conversation last night (cleaned up a little)

Me - They should be paying 1/4 rent each.

Her - How are they supposed to save up for an apartment when we're charging them $120 each.

Me - Uh, he makes 40 hours a week at 12 dollars an hour. That's $480/week. And she works 28 hours a week at 8 dollars an hour, that's $224/week. You're telling me they can't save enough money ?

Her - So they're going to put their entire paycheques towards rent ?

Me - Yes

Her - You don't understand what they're going through.

Me - How do you figure ?

Her - Have you ever moved to another province with nothing ?

Me - No

Her - Exactly

Me - So that completely voids every opinion I have ?

Her - Pretty much

Me - That's ridiculous. They make more than enough money to be paying us rent and saving money. But, instead, they're out buying cartons of cigarettes, alcohol, weed, flowers, clothes, make-up, and chit.

Her - They need that stuff.

Me - They need drugs ?

Her - Well, not all of it, but some of it. She only has a suitcase of clothes.

Me - I could live a month on a suitcase of clothes.

Her - You're not a girl; you don't understand.

Me - I understand that women are completely irrational with their priorities.

Her - You always have to make it sexist, don't you ?

Me - Uh, no ... You were the one who started stereotyping, talking about how I wouldn't understand because I'm a man.

Her - Whatever.

Me - Are you just dismissing what I'm saying or saying, "Whatever" because you know I'm right ?

Her - Why do you always have to try so hard to prove everyone wrong ?

Me - It's fun, for one. Plus, I actually care that people know what's right.

Her - No, you do it because it makes you feel better about yourself.

Me - Yeah ... What's your point ? I enjoy helping people.

Her - No, you enjoy feeling superior and holding it over them and throwing it in their faces.

Me - I think that's bullchit.

Her - It's the truth.

Me - It's not, but whatever. Why are you attacking me, anyways ?

Her - I'm not; I'm telling the truth.

Me - An attack has nothing to do with whether or not it's truthful.

Her - There you go again; always making me feel stupid.

Me - *sigh* Oh my god ... I'm pucking tired of everyone saying that. That is not my pucking goal, okay ? Am I not allowed to correct people without making them feel bad ? Of course not because everyone either has low self-esteem and immediately thinks I'm putting them down and calling them stupid or they have high self-esteem and they think they're not wrong and we have big, drawn out arguments that accomplish nothing.

Her - You're so full of yourself; you're not even that smart.

Me - *shakes head, sighs, and smiles*

Her - Why are you smiling ?

Me - Because ...

Her - Because ... ?

Me - Just because ...

Her - Tell me

Me - I don't know ... I don't know how to respond to that.

Her - Well try

Me - Anyways, can we get back on topic ? I'm tired of [Girl] and [boy] not doing anything around here but make a mess and fight.

Her - Like you never do that ?

Me - *sigh* Oh my god ... What the fudge is your problem ?

Her - Nothing; you're the one with the problem.

Me - Yeah ... I know ... I'm trying to talk to you about it.

Her - No, you're complaining about them. That's you're problem. All you ever do is complain. Nothing is ever good enough for you.

Me - *shakes head* This is pucking pointless ...

Her - Right

Me - Wanna watch a movie or something ?

Her - Sure

Me - What movie ?

Her - I don't know. One of the ones your mom brought over I guess.

Me - Yeah, I don't know. You know she only gives us the ones my brother doesn't want, right ?

Her - Yeah, I know. When she dropped them off and I asked her what they were about all she said was stuff like, "I didn't really like it." and "It sucked." or "I watched 15 minutes of it and it was so bad I put something else on."

Me - *laughs* Yeah ... She said she burned Matt a copy of The Longest Yard and, when I asked her why she didn't burn us one, she just freaked out on me, screaming, "Don't I burn enough movies for you ?"

Her - She gets so defensive when you question her on anything she does wrong.

Summary - I tried talking about it to her but she just kept attacking me in response so I gave up.

Yeah, I guess...but a lot of people that have brains also come off as asses. Like when I was told by a certain member on SIN that it was silly for me to use vacuum tubes and high efficiency drivers...because CSS 4.5" full range drivers and solid state amps would be vastly better. I realize some people are trying to get a sale, but please...I know what my audio tastes are, thank you very much.
