Ah, I meant to ask you J.F. How much do you think it would cost for my mother to get her generator set up like yours? She already had a power outage, more rings comin in from that storm. Im gonna pay for it for her.

Didn't find it too funny at the time, though. Dumbasses. You'd think a contractor would know that putting a metal-framed window directly over unprotected Romex isn't quite a wise thing to do :ohsnap:

Goes along the same lines as the idiots who use it in metal-studded walls - you can't use NMD, it's gotta be some sort of 'armored' cable for christ sake.

Use some common sense, sheesh. Anything to save a buck.

The 12kW model is the one that's at my parent's place...they make a smaller 5kW one, IIRC, if you don't need that much power.

The only work you can't do yourself is hooking it up to an LPG tank if you decide to go that route (and I highly recommend it if she's on propane, as it's a whole lot easier than having to worry about fuel during a storm).

I watch this old house.

They did a timber frame house in the town I used to live in in MA...a while ago, before they got this new guy. They also did the house next to my grandparent's house right outside of Boston.

I can't find exactly what I'm thinking of on the website...

Go to HD, they're in the tool section. Next to the welding supplies/air compressors, usually.

whyd you laugh at me, I have no friends :(.

twas a joke.

We all are friends at SSA :)

I was just kidding. I dont take much seriously.

J.F. I just got done chatting with mi madre. She didnt even buy one like that, like I thought. She bought a coleman powermate from home depot. Its a 3000watt one. So I guess all those questions were a waste. Thanks for the good info though.
