I am on a tosh satallite 2.0g, 80g HD, 512meg ram.  Never had a problem, absolutly wouldnt trade it for anything other then a powerbook g5.

Good to know.

Guess I'd be looking at the M45-S265 or A75-S213.

Should mention that weight doesn't matter, and that it'll almost always be plugged in.

Question...If you are wanting to upgrade but dont use it for games what programs are you using it for?

I have one from work ... but that's for work and work only.

I've got two desktops at home, but I want something I can pack around when I GTFO of this job.

All I'd need is Powerpoint, Word, Excel, WinZip, and Paint. Only things I'd add on would be Nero, Firefox or variant, maybe iTunes, BBP6, WinRAR, Trillian, and IRC.

Steve, it is heavy and has really bad battery life.

I think of it as more of a desktop replacement

I guess the real questions is, how long do you plan on keeping it until you will want an upgrade?, that is everyones problem. With the rate that technology is moving my 2g laptop will be completly out of date in another year or less :(

Since you are not really running many resorce hoggin programs you would be fine with a 2g, but Id save a little more and spring for the 3.33g ;)

If I got it sometime in the summer of next year (holy chit that's less than a year away), I wouldn't need/want to upgrade it for at least 2-3 years.
