:pornsmilie: The newspaper said the boss at our local electric co. got nailed for porn on his computer at work and numerous calls to "sex lines" on his work cell phone. On top of that there were numerous collect phone calls from a women's prison to his work phone extension.

first and foremost.....this type of post is absolutely forbidden in IHoP. nothing serious allowed. i should delete it, but it's elegance is keeping me from doing so.. :lol2:  :poop:

ok, fun aside...

i think you and your brother let something get to you that shouldn't have. in person or otherwise. eDmo was because we were making fun of his avatar and he was defending it, eFmo, because you're his brother and made the " i don't have a nickname, nor do i want one" comment. ok, amongst friends what did you expect to happen? you got a nickname, and when supa started to "cry"(complain) about the avatar/ emo thing, well, of course it's going to stick.

now, we've already stated we were going to drop it to keep the peace. no biggie. but the joke didn't get taken too far,IMO. in a mature enviroment, feelings shouldn't have gotten hurt, or whatever. and yes, you can have fun in a mature enviroment, the benefit is most mature people realise when a joke is a joke and no harm is intended.

i don't know why you and elias let this get to you the way it did. it shouldn't have. especially elias, who has done his share of namecalling. yet, i don't see anyone else getting upset. if it's in fun, it's in fun and it would have died out in it's own time. however, we've nipped it off early, we like the two of you and don't want you to leave or get real upset.

personally, i've not been offended by either one of you, so no apologies are necessary. but i do have one request. and this goes out to everyone, not just issac and elias, next time something like this happens, take the time to pm the people involved and politely ask them to drop it. getting pissy and making abrupt comments is just going to had fuel to the fire as people will see how it affects you. if, after pm'ing (or ask publicly, doesn't matter) the issue doesn't stop, get a mod involved. here, at least, that makes a difference.

lastly, if u would have noticed, the eDmo,eFmo comments were predominately kept in here. i made mention to eFmo elsewhere, and i will edit it. but the very concept of IHoP is going to breed that..it's all in fun. this is where to bring that exact kinda  stuff. and that's why it happens in here. but everyone in here has to understand, no harm is meant (and if the post is indeed vindictive, it will be removed).

now, i hope you two don't take offense to this, none is meant. i'm just laying my cards out on the table as you have done. the end result is this ( i hope), everything is dropped concerning eDmo/eFmo. time to move on. we've all agreed to that. so we'll leave it at that.

and with that...

i've broke the exact same rule...

but hopefully the air is clean...

and as alwways

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

No offense taken, I appreciate that someone else is willing to share their point of view. I completely understood the "verbal jousting" was in fun. I am pretty sure I acknowledged the fact. But regardless, I frankly didnt like the nicknames. In my defense, I did say I didn't want a nickname ;) . I really didnt take much offense to it, but I was just trying to illustrate a concerned point of view in my previous post. As far as your comment on maturity, I think we all know that there is a defnite lack of it here in the IHoP, and thats what it is all about, regardless, I still think its important to keep in mind that words speak louder than actions here.

Now, considering that the majiroty of everyone's posts are here in this thread, I dont think its unreasonable to say that if a point is to be made, it will get across to everyone else better here than in any other place on ths forum. THAT is why I wanted to kill this sprout before it became a weed.

So why make a big deal out of this?? Simply because I have seen it destroy a lot of other forums, and it really does hurt people. I have seen plenty of newbs come and go because of it. I was simply doing what I felt necessary to preserve the positive atmosphere here, and to eliminate a possible problem before it developed into anything else.

Thanks mrry, I hope that we can just move on, but certainly not without keeping in mind that we can all have fun and be responsible and respectful at the same time.

This guy posted this and I am wondering if he is right. I will be testing what he posted tonight.

Also I really think you will want the DMM to set the gain. That way you will have no problem in the future with blowing speakers.

You've just quoted a perfect reason to run a dedicated ground. A fully charged battery with no charging current going into it and light ( like a dome light, no key in the ignition) load should show 13.2V , if the car is running fast enough to power the car's load and charge the battery it should read 14.4V. This is determined by the chemistry of lead-acid cells.

If you're showing less than 14.4V when the car is running above the RPM where the alternator puts out enough current to have the voltage regulator dump excess to ground, then you have a problem.

I have NEVER seen any of my cars show 14.4 when I tried to ground using various chassis locations. Spot-welded thin guage steel is a really crappy conductor compared to even an 8ga copper cable.

Souns legitimate to me. But you have to realize that generalizing by giving specifica voltages is not accurate advice.

that guys a tard, batteries are made of 6 2.1 volt cells, thus 12.6 volts, and that's just the way they are

different brand auto makers set their alternators to produce different volts, yes some people get 14.4V or so but a lot of GM cars run closer to 13.6-13.9 (i think)
