I am just going to become a foreigner and live in the islands.

We are retiring outside of the US. Our investments have provided us with the money we need to get the hell out of dodge. It is Italy, for us. The Tuscan countryside offers nice low cost living, a beautiful setting, and a slow pace that makes me smile...

And the Italian women are beautiful, and not much is as sexy as hearing them speak Italian or broken English ;)

So how is this confusing?

My bad, I did stop at the section that said the US voted against the arms treaty.

No, I am not a fan of Mitt. But how anyone can honestly believe that what Obama has done is worth a second chance is bewildering to me.

In fairness, you also have to consider how Mitt's policies would have affected things over the same conditions. For example (off the top of my head), under Mitt GM would have went belly up. Under Obama, they survived the decline and IIRC actually did pretty well this year.

Again, I'll simply point out that disliking how Obama has handled things doesn't inherently make Mitt a better option. Just because Obama hasn't been stellar doesn't mean Mitt would have been or will be better. Of course, if your a Republican then you're going to argue that it will be better, if you're a Democrat you're going to argue that it'll be worse.

I tend to focus as much or more on public policy issues as I do economic. That's the main reason I can't envision supporting Romney. On top of everything else; he's Mormon. Being an atheist I'm obviously not a fan of religion, but IMO it takes a special sort of crazy to believe in Mormonism. And I generally disagree with the public policy decisions Rep's make as a result of their faith to start with, much less having an excessively crazy variety of Rep in office.

Mitt is a fucking idiot on social issues. But you know what? Social issues just plain don't matter when there are bigger more serious fish to fry.

Fuck healthcare, we need health reform, not health care reform. The government needs to push less into the workings of private businesses. It is only a hindrance. A company CEO or owner has pride in his god damn job. A public inspector, FDA, or any other group are set up to fail and be purchased. Like the government who cut corners in china to build schools we will have the same problems.

This isn't some new political theory, or democratic, liberal, conservative, or republican idea. The simple fact is when a people work more for the government the they do for themselves shit is backwards. Today we are under more rules and restrictions than ever and it is idiotic.

The cold hard fact is that if the government backs out of our lives social issues don't fucking matter.

Government cannot make society change it's beliefs. It will or will not accept intangible who you can or cannot fuck or marry laws. Same with pot, same with anything else.

Social issues should never ever be part politics.

If our government is corrupt and cannot survive on what money we can pay it then it doesn't matter if any form of marriage is legal. It doesn't matter about abortion. Because we won't have a working government.

Watching this week's No Reservations; they're in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Pure, unadulterated food porn that has me licking my TV set. Damn you again, Bourdain.

I agree he is a social nutjob in many regards, but like Dem, I just don't see that as a huge issue. Congress and the Supreme Court have more of a say in our private lives then the president does.

FWIW I am a financial and political conservative, and more of a social liberal. Frankly both parties disgust me. Neither stands behind the true ideals that their party was founded on. They pander to the masses. I think Rush Limbaugh is the biggest piece of proof on that whole deal. From his drug addiction hypocrisy that was forgiven by his blind followers, to his agreement with Bush on the Terry Schaivo incident (what could be more liberal then federal government invasion of our personal life?), he is the epitome of what is wrong with the blind party follower.

I do tend to look at the big issues facing the nation today. Military issues, the economy, and federal government invasion into our personal lives, are really a big deal to me. The federal government has just a couple big roles to fill, and when they step outside those roles we need they need to get rid of them. Unfortunately, there comes a time when we need to decide who is invading our personal lives and personal spaces, and deciding how far, or from what angle, we want to allow them into our lives.

I highlighted a few of my biggest concerns above. I am not particularly happy that my success is being threatened, and the laziness of so many others is being rewarded because of my hard work. I find it difficult to pay income taxes on my money 1.3 times, as I currently have to. It will piss me off big time if I get taxed twice. How is it fair to me to pay 2 times on money I earned, and more than 50% of Americans are not only paying no taxes, but they are receiving tax benefits and social programs that I am funding? These people are actually bringing home more money in entitlements and tax breaks then my wife does, and she has a degree and has to pay for their laziness...

Mitt is a fucking idiot on social issues. But you know what? Social issues just plain don't matter when there are bigger more serious fish to fry.

And all that is the simple truth.

OK lifting junkies. I have been lifting for a couple months again, and seeing great results. Not my first time to this rodeo, I have been lifting on and off longer than most CA enthusiasts have been alive. I am doing a 2 day 5X5 (day 1; squat, bench, 45 degree rows/ day 3; squat, military, 45 degree rows) to failure with 3X8s each workout day of inverted forearm curls, and a 3X5/1X3/1X8-12 on day 5 (Squat, Bench, 45 degree rows) and a 3X8-12 of inverted forearms, and forearm curls. I also do 6 days of planks, 3 times a day, 2 reps. I have to be careful with core workouts because of all my abdominal surgeries from the cancer, which is why my ab work is so skinny. I have cut my rest times to ~2 minutes, and my workout times I keep between 25 and 40 minutes.

During the day I eat tuna and eggs for breakfast, at lunch I usually have a PBJ (have to get some carbs in) and for dinner I load with proteins (meats) and occasionally starches, but that is only 3 times a week. I ingest no sugars, aside from my PBJ and my daily intake of bourbon. Yes, ketosis is part of the goal. I drink a gallon of water a day, minimum, and 2-3 cups of black coffee. After workout I am downing 104 grams of whey. My daily caloric intake is roughly 17oo calories, and my current weight is 205# (down from 225) and I am 6'1". I think I will be comfortable around 200#, and I am targeting anywhere from 200 and 210 as long as I stay in good shape. I don't want to be bony, and I don't want too much bulk anymore.

I have always been a bulker, I just cannot cut well. So I decided to cut my caloric intake (typically I intake 3-4500 calories a day when lifting for mass) and have more explosive, fast paced workouts. I am definitely losing weight and starting to show more than usual, but I feel like I need to add an intra-workout supplement. I am used to bulking fast, and I know it is because of my big caloric intake, but I feel there is something I can add to help, and the 32Oz of water I drink during my workout seems like it is lacking something.

What would you lifters suggest?

Damn, it is the season again, isn't it? I drive by 2 large and well known haunts on my way to work every day. X-treme Fear (their website is awful, it locks down a lot of computers so i will not link it here) and the Woods of Terror. The WOT is awesome.

Anyways, best of luck this year. Hope you scare some sexy little chick out of her panties

Actually it is usually wrought with underage hookers and senior citizen leaders. Google Berlusconi and Karima El Mahroug.

The Pope steers clear of the crooked politicians in Italy. Aside from our current administration there has never been so many crooks in charge of a country since Ancient Rome.

When you say you need some intra-workout supplement, do you feel like your lacking some energy for your workouts because the lower daily intake? If so, you could try adding branched chain amino acids to your water. I mix 5g of bcaa with a little bit of flavored protein (I add the protein mainly to lessen the bitter taste from bcaa) with water. I drink half 10 minutes before workout, and sip the rest throughout.

Curious if anyone has trained for one arm chins? Deciding whether I should do more weighted chins, or one arm + pinky assist chins...

Sandt. If you are open to suggestion I would try a couple things.

The first would to work out with a split program. As in arms one day, chest one day, legs another day, and back one day. I always recomend pyramids. 2 warm up, then your heaviest lift, then 2 more sets decending. I always recommend going to failure. I do about 10 different lifts per muscle group.

If that doesn't pass muster for you, doing 10x10 split work outs is a nightmare. Keep the time between sets to under 10 seconds. You use a "moderate" weight. By the 8th set it is brutal. The pumps can be insane. There is also a possibility that repetitious work outs with no breaks, up for 60 min or so can drastie increase GH levels over more "casual" heavy lifting techniques.

As for the durring work out drinks we know that carbs or fats will stop a GH pulse. So using a carb drink durring might inhibit the fat loss goals. BCAA drinks are great. I dont mix with protein, but that might be fine. A calorie free crystal light is a GREAT option to mask the flavor if you have to.
