Once the kombu and bonito are out you can surely boil it.

What if the bonito or kombu are in there??? What happens? Is it like the LHC and dragons and black holes will come out?

Gets bitter and smells funny.

Doesn't mean your palate won't like it, but there is a lot of subtlety in Japanese food.

I wonder if I could tell. The water for the kombu *just* started a fine boil today. I mean just. And I could not taste the difference for my miso. I am sure the kombu didnt reach the boiling temp as it was out of the water as soon as can be. But I was just curious. I did read that you shouldnt let the miso boil or it will kill the healthy bacteria I it.

The kombu is more of a fragrance change than flavor. Although of course you know how closely they are related. Having a nose cold though I don't think you'd notice.

As for the fogo thing, I can't lie, I love everything about that place. I didn't eat my 2 favorite items however. The beef ribs of the garlic coated beef. I happen to love their polenta and I had a massive salad. Probably a QP or more of salmon. Pile of tobuleh! Mmmmmm

Going sick wasn't that fun.

Today I might go to Manny's. W and I might split a steak and have the bourbon bread pudding. I have been craving it, and I cannot make challa or brioche to save my life anymore. House stays too cold and I habe lost my touch. I used to make 3 challah loves a week as a kid.

1000 *F peak EGT's on a stock tune, with a straight-through exhaust. Cummins lists 1250 *F as maximum continuous for their diesels so I will consider that my limit.

Curious to see if better intercooler airflow and a bigger exhaust will drop the EGTs. And by how much :)

Running around the university in flagstaff trying to find place to buy parking passes.

Took me forever to find the security building there to do the same.

I finally just parked in a garage. Luckily its free on weekends, and happened to be open friday evening so im not paying shit.

Funny walking on campus compared to my community college--young people, hot bitches.

Bourbon Apple Pie (At least that's what I call it):

3 parts bourbon

2 parts apple juice (the fresher/less processed, the better)

Mix with cocktail shaker, strain into chilled glassware, fucking MMMM

Sounds kinda good, but I don't know if I could add anything to my bourbon. I like my bourbon on ice or with a splash of water.

What meat do you actually get? Seriously I've had pretty unedible experiences, but as I said haven't been to the one here so it's possible we aren't screwing it up as bad.

You certainly wouldn't want to use this with a high dollar boutique bourbon. Wild Turkey, George Dickel, Old Forester, Four Roses, Buffalo Trace and the like will do just fine. You can use Canadian in a pinch, but that mule kick of virgin oak that you get with bourbon is preferred.

Well this time I had a lamb t bone, bacon wrapped fillet, ribeye, their signature cut, and sausage. And pork ribs.

Normally it is over cooked. But I really do enjoy. Their garlic beef is a flavor I cannot duplicate. And I LOVE beef ribs cooked whole like they do. So good.

Impedance sweep will give you one of the resonances. Although it isn't always the case that the first peak is the one you want. Very possible the manufacturer doesn't know that either though.

China is even cheeper. Some .25 per.

Those Chinese can do anything for nothing. A good friend of mine is in a start up furniture company and the mfg is in China. INSANE cheep. And the quality is better than 90% of the shit out there.

It as an intensity value that would allow the horn to retract and lighten the bond when it thought something was too close.
