yeah, a nice set of cans are great, but for the price of the AQ's you just can't beat the sound quality IMO

So I 'm going with some undergrads tonight to help them tune on their turbo Miata Grassroots car.

Unfortunately for them their VP with the NIStune software is MIA and they need to get the car running better pronto. They are running about 10 on their AF and suffer severe bogging and flooding when letting off the throttle. They are going to try to do some tuning without the computer by changing boost pressure and stuff. Any tips that I should give them? From what I know it seems like they are just rich overall and are not backing down the full enough on decel. So to me it sounds like something that they will need to tune the ECU for, but if they are willing to try whatever it takes and I get to see the possible carnage then I'm game tongue.png, but I figured I would help as much as possible.

What EFI, what program, and need more specifics.

From what I remember, VG30 in a Mazda Miata with an RX-8 rear diff. Using NIStune software on what looks to be a stock ECU. Single front mount turbonetics currently pushing 5 PSI and looking to up it to 11.

I can get more, but that's all I remember.

Bought some Vibram Five Fingers and am wearing them for the first time, funny feeling.

Curious, does your pinky toe feel like it's spread apart from the others? Mine was driving me nuts, so I finally cut part of the fabric.

No, and amusingly that is part of the reason I bought them. My pinky toe normally hides underneath its neighbor. Was told it's better for my feet to separate them. Hard as shit to get the little guy in there but once in it's fine.

I did have to buy the running shoes as the off trail ones felt like they twisted my toes all to shit. Amazingly completely different feel.

Are the toes long in them? The reason I ask is my toes may be longer than normal.

I can turn door knobs with my toes and I found a store that sells them in State College, guess I shall go check them out!

I ordered a pair, and I believe that's where the store was at. I got them for like $35-40.

Unless it's clearance they have to pretty much be fake to cost that little.

Vibram kind of has the Apple approach. The price is the price and it never really goes down.

You guys inspired me to wear my Vibrams KSO's today; smallest size they make :P I would have to go up 2 sizes to get the Bakilas smallest.

Yeah, I don't know shit about Nissan tuning. The Mazda is close enough to Ford I can get through it, but it's really all generic when you get down to it. If they are running rich now and the spark is strong, just throw more boost at it. They've got enough fuel, so add air.

Addco's FTW once again. If I'm having fun on twisty roads with the Jeep I can only imagine how fun would going on a track with a track car be...

With this talk of new foods I have one for you Sean.

Fish. Never really cared for the smell, taste or texture except for fish fry's when I was a kid and even that was hit or miss.

I know I am missing A SHIT TON of nutrients by skipping Fish tho.

Taking omega 3 and omega 6 supplements wouldn't be a bad idea.

Has, that is sort of like saying meat. More fish proteins than all other types combined. What don't you like about fish?

Too many types of fish to group it together. I love a lot of fish, but hate Salmon, Tuna, Mahi, and the like. I really enjoy the "lighter" whitefish.

The first two that you listed should not be cooked. MUCH better either raw or with just a very light sear. Mahi mahi is regularly trashed by the time it gets to a store. If you don't get to see the skin, it isnt' a good fish to buy. If you do and don't like "fishy" then make sure to trim the darker portion of the meat and only eat the really "white" parts.

Salmon is something I will not post recipes or recommend to anyone here. Raw, cold smoked or jerky are the only ways to eat it. Recommending a technique for blackening or searing won't net good results.

Although if you have to and have a gas range it can be done. Upside down cast iron pan, leave on high for 10 minutes, hit it with clarified butter and put the fish on instantly. Flip after 15 seconds or so and you are done. Make sure to have your vent fan on high and beware that huge flames are coming. ROFL.

I'd still pick a different fish than salmon, but that method works well on salmon.

And yes, it is sort of a pain to clarify butter but if not you'll have even more fire and it'll be gone before you get the fish in the fat.

I'm on the very edge of Tucson/Marana but it came down heavy for 2 hours straight. It's pretty much done now, I hope we get some more but I doubt it.
