First day with no pain meds at all other than maybe some ibuprofen.

Work and staying positive is like oil and water... Have to keep smiling to heal this thing though.

We will help you smile Matt. :fing34: :)

Electrostatic speakers are just something else.

My dream is to have a room with a pair of Maggie 20s and a couple McIntosh mono amps. That would cost more than both cars the bike and maybe my guns if I paid MSRP.

Jim Winey's personal listening room you'd adore. :)

Who dat?

:)

The owner/founder of Magnepan. I did a ton of measurements for him at his house ;)

There is nothing worse than telling us something like that with out pictures of this awesome room and equipment!

ANT makes every websites he owns a fucking pain in the ass, $$$

And even fucks up those he doesn't own :(

Not inferring here are you?

He sure has :(

Anthony has nothing to do with SSA. John is the Second Skin presence here. Not to mention I work really hard on the proper information when it comes to sound deadening.

My comments have absolutely nothing to do with sound deadening.

I enjoy discussing sound deadener with ppl. The science behind it is fun. That being said most ppl don't have a clue.

I cannot say enough at how much a difference it was when we thinsulated my roof. Was huge for this super cold, curious as to how it will do with the very hot days. I can make it almost all the way to work and there will be frost still on the top because most of the heat from the cabin did not make it up. :)

Might remember that my M5 had thinsulate everywhere. Way before it was available in the aftermarket. :) Still have a bunch and access to a ton more.

It was more than 10 years ago and I didn't have a camera phone then. Not sure he is even still alive and his sons are, well, interesting.

Did insulating the roof help with road noise or just help trap the sound in the car?

I believe my next step is going to be filling the a-pillar base with expanding foam. I think there is alot of road noise traveling up from the front fender through the open camber inside that area of the car body.

Even though there is no mass, thinsulate works like MLV as an absorber. The long fibers are a bit "magic".

I have an NDA so for more details you'll have to ask someone else :( but that being said, it works REALLY well in the applications it is meant for.

It did help, yes, but there is also 12 CLD tiles up there too. This is my first non-sunroof car I have owned, so a long un-interrupted surface on the roof can act as a source in a way. From a semi-psychological stand point, all the work done on the car with SDS that caused such good isolation from the outside, really makes the inside feel more cozy and welcoming. Not sure how else to explain it. It is all totally hidden, but when there is so much less presence from what is around you, there is a feeling of being wrapped up in the car. Kind of like a really warm winter jacket. Similar, but different in a mental way from the sled, as it was a big heavy vault like sleeping giant.

The honda retains heat very well with all the CCF and MLV. It will still be warm inside hours after driving. I will definetly look into the thinsulate, seems like it would be easy to work with.

I need to look into deadening the bird. Keep some road noise out.

BTW Anyone have any opinions on wrapping REALLY hot headers? I am wrapping mine as they throw a shit ton of heat.

It compresses really well. You could look at my head liner and have no idea there is a layer of it behind the liner. :)

Where did you purchase and what thickness did you use?

I missed that. lol. :P Should work like a dream. If you have any problem spots afterwards I recommend a heatshield in between said object(s).

I wouldn't worry about it to much. I would be amazed if they rusted through in the lifetime of the car.
