LMAO, he PMed you. I knew he was a skar nut huger, I just couldn't let the guy wanting to buy subs think they were as good as the ICON. Using both, the Skar has no place being offered to someone wanting the Icon.

Yep lol. I've owned the icons, they were awesome. Never used the skars but have read/heard their somewhat similar to sa12s? (could be complete bs). Either way I would never use any skar products solely because the owner has questionable business practices. But even that opinion pulled aside, I can't imagine that driver in it's price point performing up to par with an icon.

And that guy is a huge ignorant tool.

Agreed, I'm surprised I haven't gotten a nasty pm, he keeps trying to steer these newcomers the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, the VVX is a nice driver, not on par with the Icon though. I'm just trying to point out to folks that the enclosures are total crap. I made a lil video but my camera died before I could upload it so it will have to wait until tonight or tomorrow. He must have gotten some free product or something to be swinging like he is.

I got one in the trade in program thing and after dealing with him on that I wouldn't deal with him again.

Problem is the VVX isn't a nice driver in my opinion. Doesn't sound that great and in my experiences takes to much power to get some output. I just threw it back in the car to give it one more chance in a 2ft^3 @ 33hz box, but just a quick test in the driveway didn't get my hopes up.

I remember reading on c a, one box wasn't painted, another whose baffle was loose, another where the speaker terminal wasn't flush and was held on by two screws, some of the stuff was absolutely ridiculous. Perhaps his skills have gotten better

On to other news, my moonroof decided to break AFTER I opened it. Not sure if the motor is bad or it's jammed on the tracks. Checked the button and the motor's getting power and tried manually closing it but the nut wouldn't turn.

Looks like I gotta pull my headliner down, ...

I had to go buy some silicone to seal my own enclosure as it had none when I got it, the sub cutouts were not round and I had to modify them in order to get the subs to actually lay down in the holes completely. I'm getting HORRIBLE baffle flex with 175 and 300 watt subs on 4-500 rms or less (There's no way in hell that the subs that came with it would work). The terminal cup is held in by 3 screws (the 4th is not in the wood, just hanging free through the plastic only) and I get horrible noise from the box if I go above halfway with the volume.
