I don't think it would be worth it. I'm almost convinced Florida is filled with ignorant, dumb people. I have to deal with them at work and they can't even do their job right.

I got the wooden spoon as a child too, from a single mom who worked full time, we'll just say she was too tired to deal with my bullshit. Made for a well behaved kid.

Just like Duron I too am the child of a single mother. Dad lived a few towns over, but I didn't see him alot and when I did we rarely did shit just 'us'. But thats another story. I know I was a little fucker. But I'll be damned if it didn't help me learn to be-fucking-have. I swear when I see some of 'parenting' that I encounter on base I just want to beat the parents and show that child a loving home.

Love never lacked in my household. You just have to realize love sometimes comes in the form of a backhand, wooden spoon, or other device.

Odd you mention SF. I had an NCO who was ex SF. His prefered child rearing device was one thing and one thing one. Parachute cord. Grab about 5 feet of it and flod it over, and over again in about 7 inch folds. He claimed it took one or two smacks across a clothed ass for the child to get the point, and it was rare the did the same action again.

One year in wood shop I made this very nice walnut paddle complete with holes. Boy did my brother hate me for for that one. Needless to say we cut that bitch up because it hurt like you would not believe.

Im a page late, but damn I wish I had received a wooden spoon or belt. My father was a high school coach and he had special paddles that were illegal to use in school by the time I was 10. There were days that I had bruises for a week and couldnt sit down correctly for multiple days.

Buddy of mine came to town and wanted to hang out, drive around town. After some miles he ran out of gas and we had to push the car to the nearest gas station(student's life...). But then it still won't start and it turns out the engine belt had torn apart. Probably there is valve damage and will have to pay like 200 bucks for a fix. Sucks...
