So finding steel brake lines for my lifted truck and brake stuff is proving to be a bitch...

And flaring your own is an even more serious bitch.

I've flared plenty of copper, never steel, but never had a problem with copper.

I was about to suggest copper for that application.

Not on brakes. It will corrode far too easily.

Installing front comps and amp in a friends 99 Dodge Ram today. He is the service manager at the local Honda dealer and is trading me my labor for a new timing belt, parts and labor!! SWEET!!

I sold him my type-r 6.5's for 80 bucks. He is using the cde-126bt Alpine HU, and a Kenwood amp that will be giving 150wattsx2.

Now to figure out where to hook up to the diesel batterys for only 12 volts....

I thought all Cummins are 12 volt systems...

That would be nice... I was just getting ready to break out the DMM and see.

Everything but the starter SHOULD be 12 volts if it has a 24 volt system.

Stainless steel and copper aren't even similar. Hard as hell and splits easy.

You need a better flaring tool then. Stainless is easy with the proper tool, and since it is harder, you only need a single flare for brakes. Regular steel will need a double flare.

He bought something, not sure what it was but a fail. Took them someplace to have them done, lol.

only reason for the cary permit is to make sure people have some basic education about the law... and that we can make sure they have at least shot a gun once in their life prior to carrying one.

It's a bit like a drivers liscence, not any baromiter of skill, but more an assurance that those doing it legaly have operated the machinery prior.

Not in Indiana. All you have to do is fill out the paper work, pay your fee and wait for the license. I got mine having never even touched a firearm let alone fired one.

I had internet through Qwest, there not available to where I'm moving to, so I switched the internet to Cox Cable.

I'm now wondering if I should stay with Directv or switch to Cox cable? According to their marketing gimmicks and what not, cox has less HD channels but better quality?

I don't need any fancy DVR or anything, but I would like HD quality. Perhaps it'll come down channel availability.

Any thoughts?

Never had Cox, but I've had Mediacomm, AT&T U-verse, Dish Network, Comcast, and DirecTV, and DirecTV is by far the best of them all hands down, no questions asked.

Yeah, flaring tools and tubing benders are NOT created equal. You truly get what you pay for in this regard. Professional tools are the only way to go.

Are you refering to the quality of their HD? If so I agree with you.

CS on the other hand it hit or miss with them.

Agreed. . . Fully. . . But they still have the best customer service of any of the other providers I've had.

Particularly irks me when someone with such a great name like that has such stupified behavior.

Funny because they both acted the same initially. Purposely went out to find a thread to state something contradictory to what had already been presented. Never to promote fact, but some self fulfillment of going after someone whose posts they had read a lot of.

And then bypassed the forum agreement to not take things personally when called out and react in an aggressive emotional way instead of using logic.

Both smart and have potential, but being driven so strongly by emotion will greatly limit them in their career and life as well.
