Okay, I need to make a completely subjective decision.... Do I want my MP3 music in CBR 320 or VBR 256 or something else.

Keep in mind this will be played through my ipod to my truck speakers. While I am very proud of my setup, it is in a car audio environment so I don't want to waste space if I don't have to.

All that being said I have 80GB to play with and I came from 6GB and mixed bit rate and I finally started being annoyed by the lack of room a couple years ago.

Make it objective, do a blind listen test on a few songs.

Rip the song both ways. Keep them in separated folders. Re-rip the song back to full wav or whatever so they are the same size. Give the two folders to one of your friends. Have them keep track of what order they put the songs on the cd (256 320) and alternate randomly which one is first. Then he gives the disk to you and you guess. Take your time, use your stereo, your headphones, your truck and see. I think it will be enlightening. :)

I probably should do this because one of the things I want to do now is get better at tuning.

Problem is I would never be able to decide what song I would use.

Use something you are familiar with, but make sure to bridge a few genre's. I'd also pick something that is recorded well otherwise I guarantee the most golden of golden ears couldn't pick up the difference. Worth trying something lowly at the same time like 192.

The Cobra track is supposedly the ticket around here. 1.352"

Put a cobra on the F6 this year to replace the 1" stock track. Works really well on the trail.

You running studs as well or just the track?

If no, did you get the rain and if so how do you like how it turns compared to the stocker?

Non-studded because the main trail i ride doesn't allow studs :(

We didn't get the rain here so the snow is still ok. Really shines and stands out in loose powder on and off the trail compared to the stock, but is about the same on the harder packed groomed trails.

Sweet, sounds perfect.

I've found the trails that don't allow studs to be boring, no ditches you can use to bypass? Cement = straight = no fun, but I realize everyone else has their own opinion.

I am curious however to know what the penalty is because a few times a year I end up being stuck in a trail in a rush that says no studs and have taken it anyways. Always been good snow conditions though and I ride the side as much as possible but nonetheless feel like a jack ass.

If I get an optical cord for my W505/H701 would it be worth it to run the optical all the way to the back and mount the H701 back there.

Possible Pros:

Shorter RCA Cables, 1 long run of Optical (Which cannot be shortened), compared to three long runs of RCA

Less clutter

Better sound?

Possible Cons:

H701 mounted much closer to the Subwoofer (vibration problems)

A little more work (really not a problem)

What you guys think?

Those who follow the super-yacht scene know that these giant floating mansions have grown to incorporate all manner of amenities: helipads, bowling alleys, swimming pools, garages... anything and everything you might expect in a land-locked residence, only set out to sea. But this... this is something else altogether.

Called The Streets of Monaco, this design is modeled after a section of Monte Carlo – in more ways that one. The headline feature is an on-board karting track modeled after the famous grand prix circuit. But that's hardly the extent of it. As you can see, the design bridges the gap from naval architecture to actual architecture and on to city planning.

Instead of decks, it has buildings. Instead of a swim platform, a freakin' beach. It's also got submarines, helicopters, waterfalls, movie theater, spa and more, plus sleeping accommodations for 16 guests and the 70 crew it would require to keep this puppy going. All packed into 155 meters, length overall. (That's not a typo. We don't mean 155 feet. We mean 155 meters, equivalent to 508 feet.) That's about half the size of a modern super-tanker, cruise ship or Nimitz-class aircraft carrier. For better or worse – seaworthy or not – the design stays on paper for the time being.

if you do the one run of optical make sure you place the cable somewhere where it definitely, absolutely, positively will not kink

Do you have noise where it is mounted now? If not, then the pro's are only "less clutter"

Oh my goodness I'm soooo mad right now. Just spend all this time getting my music all organized. Was adding a bunch of songs to my ipod and went to grab some chicken noodle soup. Walked by and caught my foot on the cord and it fell approximately 4 feet and landed upside down on my tile floor. Now its messed up windows won't find it and itsmake a wierd noise :( :( :(

Mark is at CES right now, and I am again stuck here. I am so fucking sick of not being able to travel. Good news is, I have already begun the process to fix that.

Took it to a guy in town that did a good job restoring information on my parents hard drive. Also picked up a USB power Seagate 500GB and an AC powered 500GB Seagate so I can have a back up always available and a portable HD.

Was getting my Ipod all synced up and now its on the back burner.

meh, I guess not... but I love less clutter. What about the possible vibration problem?
