and for some reason she's all crabby about the exposed studs in the doorway and thinks I should make a real covering for the passthrough instead of a 3/4 oak 4x8.

I told her it's fancy oak but she doesn't think it's acceptable.

My Uncle actually did that. Built his house nearly inside out. ALL of the lumber supporting the house is exposed, but it is also all finished. Not exactly the cheap way to build. :P

Dreams of a room out of mahogany, one out of walnut, the sun room out of cherry, etc....

His aren't that ridiculous. Not rough hewn, but not sanded. Just ripped nicely on a table saw basically. Looks great.

I think I'm going to talk to my investment manager about some openings in his office, and if he would take me under his wing. Been a friend of the family and my mom for a bajillion years, and I have to get out of this place.

My director even mentioned when he let me down on the promotion... wich by the way is a LOT of work for verry verry verry little money.... that he feels I should move into the investment/retirement department and has me in mind when that opens up via atrition or new positions. Something dealing with the vendors and then the employee's invested in those vendors here.

I just don't think I want to wait that long, or deal with this mess here anymore.
