Fucking hell.

3 days and nights of work on a school project and couldn't get it done in time, which means I'll have to send it in autumn and possibly take the exam in autumn too.

I hope I never see an fpga or development board ever. SOOO sick of this shit.

I lit my face on fire and then had my truck break down next to one of the most expencive shops in MN on memorial day.

Goodie.

I made some of the best ribs I've ever done though. The pork buts involved in my face being on fire however turned out on the dry side.

Sounds to me you saved the day with the ribs :)

Those ribs were great man. The rub was just right and I made a sticky plum and ginger glaze for them.

I only ate 2-4 bones worth that night though as my lips were not feeling so great. I drank 2 vodka tonics through a straw and went to bed. Thank god there were a couple left over for breafast.

Anyone here have an 880/800 that could check something for me?

Mine is in the basement, and I don't feel like powering it up so a no is okay.

Curious if I can change the output level of the RCA's without affecting the internal amplifier.

**Want to use the internal amplifier to output to four speakers in my sisters boat. The RCA output to an amplifier for the main two speakers.

***Considering the 880 will cross over the internal amplifier and rca's at the same time what I'd like to do is turn up the output for the amplified speakers and down the internal ones. This would allow cruising with just the main four speakers and bumping with all the above once parked and not having the 4 then scream.

I don't think it sounds promising, not sure if I can check as I don't have anything hooked up to the internal amp and I'm using its active capabilities. What I think you'd have to do is hook up the interior to the front rcas or the front internal amp outputs and the outside speakers to the rear outputs and then use the front to rear fade option in the deck

Could you use line out converters from the internal amp which usually has its own gain. Not sure if that's exactly what your looking for.

I should ask this more simply.

Any idea if setting the output level for each RCA channel also affects the internal amplifier? If not, I'm golden.

BTW, the crossovers DO function on the internal channels. All I want is one more way to balance them besides the amplifier gain. If it were my boat, I'd just use the amp gain, but that would mean you can't turn it up as much once the amp is on versus it being off and that will spell disaster on my sisters boat. For me it'd be no issue.

I can't just use the fronts to power 4 speakers and won't be adding another amp. If this doesn't work I'll put in a four pole switch to kill the four built-ins when the amplified channels are running.

I have done quite a few things involving a grill, but setting my face ablaze has not been one of them

Basically just raped and pillaged the local dealership; 2010 Silverado 1500 LT crew cab, power everything, 2WD, 5.3 LMG engine, 6L80 trans, GovLok rear, HD trailer package, spray in bedliner, yadda yadda, yadd. MSRP ~36, got it for 19, used Ol' Blue and The Big Green as down payment, plus got a $1k gift certificate for one of the local furniture dealers. Hate to seem them go, but it is time. At least our driveway won't look like a used parking lot anymore :lol2:

Memorial Day sales are fun, especially when you get to make the sales guy squirm in his seat.

EDIT: I got bored so here are the basic highlights

Mechanical Bits:

Vortec 5.3 LMG (iron block, aluminum heads, Active Fuel Management, FlexFuel, 315 hp @ 5200 rpm, 335 lb./ft. @ 4000 rpm, 6,000 redline)

GM 6L80 trans (4.03, 2.36, 1.53, 1.15, 0.85, 0.67, 3.06)

External oil and trans coolers, heavy-duty radiator

GM 8.6 rear end, 3.42 ratio w/LSD

Other Bits:

AM/FM/XM stereo with MP3 CD player, radio data system, speed-compensated volume, front AUX input

2-inch receiver, 7-wire harness, wiring harness for after-market trailer brake controller

Power-adjustable pedals, ultrasonic rear parking assist, rear-window defogger

Front 40/20/40 split-bench

Spray-In Bedliner

Power Windows

Cruise Control

Remote Entry

Power Locks

Hope its better than my piece of shit

It was. I hope I'm healed up tomorrow. I need to shave as my beard was burned a tad lopsided.... I just couldn't bear to bring the razor to my face.

I soak my wood chunks in booze, this time some horrible orange brandy (it was with the tripple sec and I thought it was a cheeper version of Grand Ma') before putting them on in the coals. I had just taken the ribs off and asked Sean deuce to grab the mesquite chunks from the bag, put them in something fire proof to pour them into the egg and bring it to me.

We lifted the ceramic difuser plate to the side and I tossed in the chunks. He didn't know what was going on and didn't drain the chunks. Basically the difuser plate acted as a funnel and all the fire blasted up at my smiling face.

:gayhaaay1:

My beard saved me some serious burns I bet, however I probably looked like a tard wiping down my flaming face with an arm that was on fire.

:D

Nothing serious, just banged up ego, and some tender skin.

lol. Yup, and thanks!

Sean 2 never thought to drain it, just did what was asked of him, and I didn't think about it being in there because I always do drain it. :sigh:

I was more amused than anything. The wife however walked out just in time to see the flames wrap around me. She was not as amused.

Reason number 3 billion I need to get my egg off the ground and on a stand.

I was more ticked off about my tie rod going all to kaput on me than the self BBQ.

I'm replacing the other side myself with a buddy tonight and maybe some of the ball joints, but I took it without lube hard for the driverside yesterday. Pot hole took it out right in front of Bobby and Steves. Completely undrivable.

these new SBC pickups have a very nice rumble, even with a stock exhaust; love it!
