and since we're on the subject of shocks, are monotubes that much better than twin tube? just wondering because most aftermarket "performance shocks" are twin tubes...like Koni's for instance...

Depends on the application.

closest I'll get to camping is RV'ing or cabin renting; will not touch a tent

That's easy. You can sell the original Shelby and buy a new one along with a nice house and garage to store it in and still have money left over for fuel, insurance and maintenance on both the house and car.

Tent is from 1977 :P

Of course the damn zipper worked this morning. Oh well, fuck it. I am going out on the boat and gettin' drunk. :D

WOW that thing is old! Maybe a gift from long ago?

Alrighty then:

Best ones for a commuter car?

Best ones for a weekday commuter/weekend racer?

Best ones for an all out drag racer?

Best ones for an all out road race/autocrosser?

Best ones for a work truck?

Anyone make frequent trips to u-pull it / junkyards ?

I'm looking for a pair of hood vents from a LeBaron / New Yorker Turbo. Online places want $60-70 + shipping :(

I'll pay extra to cover a few beers :D

i rented a jack hammer and knocked apart 2 ponds. Today and tomorrow will be worse though, moving the concrete. We didn't have to knock the bottom of the ponds out thank god. we're just putting dirt over it to make a garden on both of them. Maybe a small water feature though.

Good luck Matt, i just managed to get a bit sunburn which is unusual since I don't ever burn. First day with no shirt and 95 degrees, sunny, and by a huge reflector (lake) might have made that happen though.

Anyone here have an 880/800 that could check something for me?

Mine is in the basement, and I don't feel like powering it up so a no is okay.

Curious if I can change the output level of the RCA's without affecting the internal amplifier.

**Want to use the internal amplifier to output to four speakers in my sisters boat. The RCA output to an amplifier for the main two speakers.

***Considering the 880 will cross over the internal amplifier and rca's at the same time what I'd like to do is turn up the output for the amplified speakers and down the internal ones. This would allow cruising with just the main four speakers and bumping with all the above once parked and not having the 4 then scream.

I don't think it sounds promising, not sure if I can check as I don't have anything hooked up to the internal amp and I'm using its active capabilities. What I think you'd have to do is hook up the interior to the front rcas or the front internal amp outputs and the outside speakers to the rear outputs and then use the front to rear fade option in the deck

Could you use line out converters from the internal amp which usually has its own gain. Not sure if that's exactly what your looking for.

Broke up a good portion. didn't move chunks yet. Probably all day tomorrow. I won't get it all done though.

I'd be red as a lobster (I know because I totally did that once, not fun)

I am lucky I don't burn just turn brown :)

Even in the tropics, I just get darker.

is there any better drinking album than Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs? If so, I haven't found it. But the night is young!

Basically just raped and pillaged the local dealership; 2010 Silverado 1500 LT crew cab, power everything, 2WD, 5.3 LMG engine, 6L80 trans, GovLok rear, HD trailer package, spray in bedliner, yadda yadda, yadd. MSRP ~36, got it for 19, used Ol' Blue and The Big Green as down payment, plus got a $1k gift certificate for one of the local furniture dealers. Hate to seem them go, but it is time. At least our driveway won't look like a used parking lot anymore :lol2:

Memorial Day sales are fun, especially when you get to make the sales guy squirm in his seat.

EDIT: I got bored so here are the basic highlights

Mechanical Bits:

Vortec 5.3 LMG (iron block, aluminum heads, Active Fuel Management, FlexFuel, 315 hp @ 5200 rpm, 335 lb./ft. @ 4000 rpm, 6,000 redline)

GM 6L80 trans (4.03, 2.36, 1.53, 1.15, 0.85, 0.67, 3.06)

External oil and trans coolers, heavy-duty radiator

GM 8.6 rear end, 3.42 ratio w/LSD

Other Bits:

AM/FM/XM stereo with MP3 CD player, radio data system, speed-compensated volume, front AUX input

2-inch receiver, 7-wire harness, wiring harness for after-market trailer brake controller

Power-adjustable pedals, ultrasonic rear parking assist, rear-window defogger

Front 40/20/40 split-bench

Spray-In Bedliner

Power Windows

Cruise Control

Remote Entry

Power Locks
