Or espresso. What is more expensive a $1500 machine or the 2 $150+ machines that got thrown away?

$150 + $150 = $300

$300 < $1500

Not including utils in your expense calculation is idiotic.

$1500 for something useful is cheaper than $300 in the garbage. I know I'd surely rather buy something for $1500 than throw away $300.

You just asked which was more expensive you never asked about usefulness.

Perhaps a quick look into the dictionary would give some insight. Merriam states:

1 : involving high cost or sacrifice <an expensive hobby>

2 a : commanding a high price and especially one that is not based on intrinsic worth or is beyond a prospective buyer's means

Intrinsic worth and or sacrifice are part of the definition. Price is not the exclusive description. Of course to me personally it is even stronger. The question was rhetorical and I know your response is also about as tongue and cheek as mine. The point of my question though was to relay the most expensive lessons I've had. All of them surround buying something that may have been a deal that I get no utility out of.

I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing for subs now. I need more than the single 12. I don't know whether I want to recone or sell what I have and start over. I also don't know if I should go bigger if I recone. I effing hate this hobby.

there is a guy on ca.com looking for one.

Offer sent on a black Zapco AG650. It would match my AG750 perfectly and would be excellent for midbass and fullrange duty. With 4 channels bridged the Extremis will sing.

I have been watching and waiting for a multi-channel Zapco for too long. This has to pan out.

So I am working on my HT boxes and I have come to the conclusion that I made a horrible error in design. My slot port is basically a giant unbraced pannel and I have no way of correcting it. It also is such a narrow slow that it will probably create a lot of noise. The area should be ok but it is insanely narrow.

Should I just build the boxes sealed instead? They are about 16 cubic feet if I remember correctly.

Just finish it and see if you have a problem with it. Or is it still in the design phase?

Anyone else lay in bed thinking, not worried perhaps, but just thinking about decisions and reviewing information and facts about every choice?

At least when it comes to leasure activities. I am much more decisive about work because I make deadlines for myself and have constraints. In fun choices, the world is an my buffet and I want it all.

All the damn MDF is cut. 3 boards or more deep in MDF already.

It has been cut for a while and today I pulled all the wood inside from the garage to finally assemble. If its in my face I will do something about it kind of thing. Cleaning up the workshop etc.

Well I look at it and realised my mistake. I wasn't thinking at the time. Just popped some shit into winsd or whatever that program is and made the most simple design possible.

Fucked up bad. Two foot by four foot of unbraced unsupported MDF on one side and the port looks to be only 2" tall. At the time I only accounted for port area when thinking about velocity, not that if it is too narrow it will be nothing but turbulent crap.

:-(

Thanks for the heads up. I was in contact with him, but I think I'm going to get some recones.

Every night. Same choice. I don't like buffet's though, but I want the choices.
