Julian I am waiting for Viper to get back to me. The unit I am looking at is not very pricey, but I will keep you in the loop. Thanks again.

and wtf is a blue steel crepe pan? tongue.png

best guess.

Blue Steel (Ao-ko)Blue steel is basically Shiro-ko with the addition of chromium and tungsten. This additions increase the durability of the blade, reduce the reactivity of the steel and give the potential for longer edge retention. Ao-ko steel is not stainless, but tarnishes slower than Shiro-ko.
Powder Metal does this. I think the color(like blue and white etc) are a referance to the bins they keep the steel in. I read that a looooooooooong time ago when researching Japanese knives. Don't quote me, just my old man memory.

So Coleman Thedinger will start deleting my posts in his thread on CA.Com LOL

Glad we don't have people like that here and the ones we do are watched.

This is what he said..

Please stay out of all the threads in my section. All you ever try to is start drama and arguments. I will be deleting all the comments I see from you in the AT sections from now one.

Which was in response to telling a guy that having 175 Ft^2 (100% coverage with multiple layers) of deadner was unnecessary.

This is what I said

Adding Mass (deadening) is different than adding strength and rigidity.. Coleman, you sir are an idiot. I guess 100% coverage... is good for him, but there are much better alternatives (that are indeed cheaper) than adding 3-4 layers to a single panel. Usually I don't deaden anything with hard angles because they are more rigid than say a large panel. I'll start **** in the thunderdome if you want to delete critiscism. Are you and Kevin at SKAM becoming bestfriends?

That's not bad at all, especially if you install it yourself.

I just got off the phone with them and they told me I will loose one of the fobs. This system will work without any extras so I am still on the fence. I know there has to be a way to install this unit and use the toyota fob, but I am not authorized so he could not give me that information.

These are sweet.

http://www.mauvielus...plu6504.26.html

I actually have the 4mm ones which aren't available in the US. And a full set of them.

Add an All Clad stock pot and All Clad non-stick (which I really only use for reheating) and a cheap blue steel crepe pan and a $12 wok from an Asian grocery store and that sums up my kitchen.

Worth a ticket to Paris to get them though. 4mm 25cm pan there was $70 when I bought them. Locally they were $700.

I still use the spring form pans my mother got as a wedding gift, the copper bottom Revere-Ware pans I got from my wedding 19 years ago, and have gone through dozens and dozens of cheap non-stick frying pans from Wal*Mart. One quality purchase can be worth a life time, or two.

I walked into bio for the final, and the teacher says: "why are you even here? You have an A."

I reply: "so I can beat whoever has the 1% higher grade than me. :D"

Alright after talking to several people I am going with the Excalibur rs-230dpb. This unit will work with the toyota fob and do what the wife needs it to do. Price installed by me and the local shop is under $200 so I am happy with that, plus they are there if I need them.

The big plus is I am trying to help them get on the board for their audio comps.

Used to be the only place I could buy sheets. 20" mattress will do that.

But, if you're planning on going batshit crazy with the damned thing skip stainless altogether and go with something like L-6 or 5160.

I have some old leaf springs, some of them are straight (overload leafs) and they are 5160 from what I can gather. Time to build a machete to keep in the car ?
