Interestingly enough my furnace isn't switching on. Not too happy about that.

Check the flame sensor. That is the number one issue when starting a furnace after summer. Cobwebs collect on it and it won't ignite. A simple clean and you're good to go. Save yourself $100 service call.

Ryan maybe you can help. I have free service calls, but it is still a hassle. So whe we moved in I did as you say and cleaned it all out. Moved/set up the sensor etc etc. Nothing worked. What did work is this box with 4 wires leading into it needed to be shook/jiggled. Then it will start.

That worked for a while but then it needed to be touched everytime the furnace needed to come on. So I called a guy. He came out and replaced the box. All was well fod last year.

Same thing this time. I go down and just touch the box/ wires connecting and it worked perfectly.

WTF is up with that?

$10 says that it's the igniter.

Only saying that because I remember you saying that you did some sheet rock work lately. If so, unless you were REALLY diligent in getting up all the dust it has the nasty tendency to take out the igniter. If it ain't red, it ain't workin'. If so, yank it and run to dey appliance and grab a new one for $40.

I will double check the igniter anyway. Good call brochacho. It did start up when I jighled these magic wires. But it could be dirty as a muh fukker anywhoosle.

Without seeing it, I can't tell you for sure. It could be a multitude of things. You should have 4 to 6 wires for your stat, so it could be that, or the control transformer, or another daughter board for something.

The person who bought my broken 880prs is now asking me to help pay for the repairs. The unit was listed as broken and as is. Doh.gif
