The rubber boot on my tie rod end is ripped. can you replace the boot or do you have to replace the whole end?

2012-06-21_00-52-45_950.jpg

you can replace the boot if you didn't wait too long. if you don't have a "clicking" noise when you turn then it's all good.

It's a molded boot. You won't be able to find a replacement as they don't make them. They will for ball joints. The tie rod end should be fairly cheap anyways, so just buy a new end.

sounds good, they're pretty cheap.

is there any special procedure to the replacing the tie rod end to preserve the aliment?

Make a measurement of how long it is now, and when installing the new one, make sure it matches.

alrighty, sounds easy.

thanks mang, too bad they're in my bro's car and not mine.

i tried using that textured paint on mine. color actually look kind of good in my car. fucking shit is all cracked from heat.

think im gonna just throw the pillars out and start over. probably finish in tan or dark brown flocking.

fuck, i hardly have 1mb down half the day.

not sure what could be causing it. my guess is a settings issue. even a wireless router should never have anywhere close to that much drop.

Yeah those pillars came out sweet.

Sounds like a plan Peng. Materials may end up putting you near the cost of the Yeti as you said, but if your looking for a project..

It would still be half the retail price of a Yeti, but since I'm driving through Austin soon anyway I have the opportunity to buy factory seconds/scratch and dent/returned models at their facility for 40-50% the retail price of a Yeti :P

Did I tell you I was walking behind one of the production lines and an air line blew apart. The fellow who was doing the audit with me said I was like a ninja catching the line in like a wip in the air. Guess I still have a little left in me.

Our dryers have huge exhaust blowers on them and they are on a hinged door for lint cleanout. We have pneumatic actuators on the doors to lock them in place. Well, the dryer operators occasionally remove the air lines to open the doors and clean the blower wheel. They never understand that line is under pressure and it's poly, so it's pretty slick. It never fails, every time they remove the line, it blows out of their hands and smacks them in the face. We'll call each other on the radio to gather round every time we see one reaching for the line. It's quite amusing.

That is funny watching some one get beat up by an air line. The red marks are like ribbons.

I remember when I was about 13 I got smacked right in the chest by an airline that I was disconnecting at the shop, that left a nice red streak across the ole skin.
