Welcome to the IHoP

I assume it's an HEI, I'm GM stupid though. Pulled the cap and rotor and they look like they were replaced VERY recently so I am sure the previous owner also had this problem.

and are you dead set on variable power?

I know nothing of scopes, but prime lenses are always the best.

define prime please?

This is an HEI. It has the coil embedded atop the distributor cap. I'm sure I don't need to go into it's positive attributes.

http://www.jegs.com/i/GM+Performance/809/88961867/10002/-1

A normal distributor will have a remote mount coil and a coil wire from the coil into the distributor cap.

I would change the coil and wires myself.

Does this have a separate fuel tank, or do you have removable marine tanks? Depending on storage, vapor lock could be an issue. It's unlikey, but if you have the tank just sitting in the hot sun. . . That red plastic just soaks up heat.

I only want a gun to have to kill someone. If they are that far away, I should have no need to shoot them. If I do, I am in the wrong country.

Pistols are for fighting your way to a shotgun,

shotguns are for helping you get to a rifle,

rifles are to help you get to machine guns,

machine guns are for getting you to the tank.

I would have both the pistol and shotgun, so two birds are dead.

If I need a machine gun, that means I am at war or channeling my inner Tony Montana, which I never will be.

Now the tank would be cool, just to smash shit and blow shit up, which is fun, but if I needed to that, I would just use explosives.

And If I ever need to kill my own food, I will do it with my own hands or other tool. I don't see the gun as sporting. Even the prey has to have an opportunity to secure it's life. One must play fair.

For home defense I would pick an AR-15 SBR or some .45 SMG over anything. Makes much much more sense than anything else.

I eat farm raised animals. They have less hope.

No matter what you do, how bad ass you think you are, or how brass like your balls are, this wins.

Stefan, for used product you can check here. Stuff moves fast but it's awesome.

There is more snake oil and peacocking in the gun world.... but that site has some really good info.

Just what I was looking for. :)

Sorry. Optics without zoom as always MUCH more clear. No zoom = prime.

HEI it is.

Built in 80gal tank. Vapor lock is a problem, but not in my case. It isn't that you shut it off and it won't start but that it pukes while running full bore. I've never heard vapor lock creating that scenario...but if you have I can insulate the fuel lines.

I did peak last night too and one of the wire holders is somewhat melted. The wires look fine and perhaps even new....not that it means jack, but I am pretty sure by the recent "tune-up" the previous owner was chasing this ghost as well. For that reason I'll start with the coil which of course is easier as well :)

Fuck that, I'll start with the tank. Just how I roll.

Cool. I thougt that is what you were talking about, but had not heard it termed like that. Parralax can be a big issue on variable power scopes.

I know so little about how oprics work, but I am getting better at finding spotting problems inside optics. I would imagine in the scope world having clarity and while making something adjust angle based on internal lenses is a hot mess.

When i look at a scope I first care about durability and repeateabilit. If it doesn't move the same amount every time you click a turret then it is a damn waste. After that comes a large FOV with good contrast and clarity. Ergonomics are next.

What will make me hate a scope though is chromatic abborations(sp) and distortion around the image at the edges. Those two things bug my eyes so much I cannot tolerate looking through them. even if the scope was perfect otherwise, i will head a headache looking at images that way.

I agree!

But its hard to put a tank in the bedroom.

Both are artifacts of zoom.

Broke another throttle cable today, goddammit.

At least it snapped near the truck.
