You always go overboard and make shit so much harder than it has to be. faintthud.gif

No way to do this easily....unless you spend a SHIT ton of cash.

One option CAN make this easier, it's mono smile.png

Wasn't the point of the minidsp to make it cheap?

Cheap with future flexibility. And yes, it's pissing me off. A $10 pot would be fine, but $50. FUCK.

so theses wont work? http://www.minidsp.c...ol-pot?sef=hcfp

i probably missed something, haha

My plan was to use one of those as a master. It'd be the volume control, but I still need "faders" for the channels.

One miniDSP will do the processing for some pro audio mids and horns.

The second miniDSP will do the processing for the in boat speakers and sub.

If I used the miniDSP pots then I couldn't have the sub on loud with only the towers which will be my normal listening environment. Loud for either the rider behind the boat or the people swimming in the water. Not as loud for those sitting in the boat as they will be in close proximity. Then while cruising, towers off and the boat speakers & sub on. Vastly different sub levels.

So I could use just the two miniDSP pots and get a normal volume pot for the in boats. The only problem with that solution is if I want an overall volume I'll need another pot on the input to the miniDSP and running ADC with low level input will increase the noise and then when I use DSP on the noisy signal everything is degraded.

Can't believe there are no VCA kits available anymore. Fuck me. sad.png

How about this between the channel signals for fading, http://www.amazon.com/Axxess-AALC-Remote-Level-Controller/dp/B003FPD3IS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1335911245&sr=8-2

I never get glass, but I don't do high heat cooking. What are you guys doing for high heat cooking?

Steaks would be the most common for really hot. After that it is me burning off the coal for a cleaning. It works so much better to just leave the vent open and shoot fire out the top right before a disassemble cleaning.

I'd get it nice and hot before cooking with it closed in case the sealant you used has any volatile nasties in it.

Amusingly when I did that, I melted part of the new gasket. Yep, 1750 temp material can still melt in a komodo. Tells you how hot you can get it. smile.png

Burned off the lump you see in the picture, about 700 for almost an hour.

Sean uses the stoker. I'm not sure why, but I remember also liking that option more when I looked into both.

It's been a while. I have so many other things I need to spend money on, and even more that I want to right now.

I think want will > the need.

If I don't get a vacation from the world I'm going to loose it. I have a life support for 4 grown adults in my hands. I'm on unemployment, and uneducated.

Roomie has a masters in some super awesome info security from the U of MN and a BA in game development. I would be close to the 6 figure range right now with that. If I fully networked....... it, man oh man.

For sure, this weekend seems like a good one for egg cooking.

Internet control on the stoker. I can be on the lake and turn up the temp :)

Also allows longer cable runs. My controller is in the basement in my 19" rack with everything else, 1/4" stereo jack drilled through the wall.

And the free stoker log software rocks. Let's you see stability over time and fix your fine tuning of venting while using slow & low methods.

$20 for the throw away pre-wired volume controls. Fucking love it. Curious to see how good they are. Contemplating having them shipped to CA where I will be next week so I can test the full FR at a variety of levels in the lab to see how they do.

Nice to, because the expensive pots I want I am sure I can get cheaper in Akihabara and conveniently for me I'll be there in two weeks. 3 week lead time from Germany though so I was going to order tonight.

THANK YOU!!
