Taping done. Now just mud, corner molding and sanding to go.

photobucket-15950-1334627042042.jpg

And I'm not doing anything more until the walls are ready for paint smile.png

Finished the wiring today. The room next to it houses the furnace and has a new lighting circuit. 2 fresh 20amp's for the HT room and 18 total can lights. You can't see the mini-cans yet, but you can see the holes where they will go smile.png

It sucks that you will not get to enjoy this room, but maybe in your next house you can do your theater.

I don't actually watch tv and I never watch movies. I've been to 3 in the past 15 years and maybe watched 5 or so in the same timeframe at home. For me it was a listening room. That I won't get in the next house as it'll be half the size of this one or perhaps even less, but it'll have a "movie" I want to watch on all the time and that is a lake out the front windows. :)

Sounds like I will need a picture of your view to enjoy what you get to watch. :)

Room is going along.

That is a day on a snowmobile.

And two really quick bursts in the boat. Sold the boat a couple weeks back though and haven't picked the other one up yet.

<-- Just got thirty albums of Santana. I like that the majority of the songs have a nice mix of instruments with stellar percussion.

I think they're telling you to rabbet joint the wood. A dado blade works good if you have one, then notch pipe to fit tight.

I don't have dado's....but have a router installed on my table saw so that is no problem.

What I didn't follow was it sounded like a double rabbet was being recommended.

I thought double rabbet also until the latest sketch up.

I dont think he'll need any rabbets given the PVC's natural spring to roll in on itself once he cuts it.

I dont think a rabbet joint is needed either. IF anything I would leave a tab in the middle of the PVC and do a mortise and tenon in the middle. Would lock together like Lego's!

Love it, completely hadn't thought about doing that. smile.png

I would think you could plunge cut in the middle and from the ends and leave two tabs.

Something like this? Not to scale, but I wanted to translate your recommendation. The rear wall of the 10 would look like the front wall of the 8 so that would be rigid. The 8 would also have a face in the rear to attach to, but it'll be hidden. The 10 is then attached via the mortise & tenon and rear face. Obviously I'll add wood strips to hide the recesses but then the visualization wouldn't work smile.png

Sounds steller Sean. I can't wait to see it built!

I will be running the Polk Audio MMC690 MOMO 3-ways in my boat. I LOVE how these things wail in the midrange!!

Pretty much agree...with the caveat on the cars being a bit different. I drive a Mercedes. Not because I give a rats ass that it is a Mercedes, but I wanted the best crossover vehicle (drives like a car, pulls a trailer) that would be the least of a compromise. Most people buy things for status. That is pathetic, buying anything extreme for actual use is a completely different situation.

I understand that exactly. And I will be looking for a car that is hell of a lot of fun to drive, but is also capable of being comfortable for long trips. If the best for my money ends up being a Honda Accord then that's what I would want to get.

Honda Accords are NOT fun to drive, lol.

Well considering I drive a 1995 Saturn. When my friend and I traded cars for a weekend (2005 Accord V6) I was quite happy

Then you'd absolutely LOVE the new 3 series.

2004 M3 in seca blue. Still one of my dream cars.

Just needs BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!

You would love a Honda Accord Mike, the gas milage and reliability make it worth it alone. While not as fun as an Audi or Bimmer to drive, still a pretty zippy ride with decent handling.

The HT room is looking good Sean! I can't wait to get my house wired for sound. I am still trolling for a good 12 ch house amp. The Sonamp (mk1250) and a few Niles (4630, 8630) units are at the top of the list. Obviouly I have A ton of other shit to do to the house so this is low on the list.

The truck and trailer look slightly undersized for that boat...

Hopefully mostly early albums.

Any with other "famous" musicians?

Cool. If you don't dig on the Sundowns I have some recommendations that'll fit in those enclosures then :) They might prefer slightly higher tuning, but that's pretty close.

Yikes, no. Even the reliability is questionable. Hands down by far the car that have caused my friends the most trouble. Everyone of them with one is always complaining about it being in the shop and the repair prices are as bad as BMW. And they are far from fun to drive. FWD SUCKS!

Buy a cheap one and for critical listening rooms get nicer dedicated 2 chn amps. Mine is a cheapo Niles, but I have Adcom, Crown, Pio Elite & Onkyo for more critical locations.

Where did we get so much? It was almost white out here, but nothing stayed on the ground.
